Make a tos agreement method to remove the whole he said she said situation.

vjRNLBj.png

Things that should be added to make this work:
- Viewable log to show if someone agreed or declined the tos
- Viewable Timestamp that shows when the user agress to the tos
- Viewable timestamp at when the tos was last changed and the ability view previous version.
- A way for ops to view who agreed to the tos.
- A Web interface where staff aswell as ops can view documentation that's needed.
- A section in threads and pms

Post your ideas down below :)

I still think it's a pointless addon. A TOS is not like condom where "one size fits all." Every buyer has a unique situation & request. Generalizing would hurt more than specifying.
The same general concept applies. The whole suggestion revolves around customization. Anyone can customize their TOS to their liking. And I'll having you know that one size does definitely not fit all ;)

Is this an addon that already exists or what?
I don't see any point in creating some custom ToS agreement system just for this when you can just ask them in PM if they agree, or including a statement like "By purchasing you agree to ___", right?
I could see it being an external service (like the chatlog viewer website I can't remember the name of that everybody uses).

I've been using a few other marketplace forums recently to look at what they do. Generally, sending a PM to confirm order details is a pretty common thing and this has one key benefit: It prevents impersonators and the confirms the deal at the same time. Adding in an "Agree to TOS" button has several negatives.

A system like this takes time and money to produce, and if you take a gander at the pending suggestions MCM has we have dozens that we could be working on instead and with such an obvious system that Nerd suggested, there's just no point when we could be working on better things.

MisfitNerd provided you with an excellent alternative to getting something custom developed for this.

Here's the easiest way for us all to avoid the "He said, she said" of a scam report.

Lay your ToS out in front of them in MCM messages, where they can't edit it out. Even if your ToS is on the thread or your signature or somewhere else, just always lay it out so there's no way they CAN'T see it. If you always do deals in this manner, your buyer can never argue that they "Didn't agree to the ToS because they didn't see it". We don't need a whole button and system developed to do what's so easily do-able here in MCM PM's. If you wish to avoid any potential errors, always follow this code, and do not use Skype. It's pretty simple.

A system like this at the bottom of a thread just would look clunky and unprofessional too I think. You really don't need your own TOS in most cases, and enforcement of them on MCM is a bit of an undecided topic too right now. If you get scammed, whether or not you have a TOS the scammer will be banned.

And on that note, I'm going to deny this suggestion for now. MCM really doesn't need a system like this now or in the future.

Thanks for the suggestion. Your voice is hot btw <3
