Hi all,

I'm going to develop and sell a webshop (+ plugin) for Minecraft server that the buyer will be able to host them self without any limitations but I was curious, before I'm starting the project what price range are you guys looking for. It will be a one time purchase for the product itself and may add paid support after a while. The application will support stripe (so credit card and maybe iDeal) as payment method.

Kind regards,
Ruben

Both Tebex and Craftingstore are not self-hosted - They also take a really big cut of your revenue. As for PayPal I'm going to loon into that option however they take a bigger cut of the money earned then Stripe + It's easier with Stripe to send the money to your bank account.

Craftingstore says they don't take a cut (however I find that hard to believe) and Tebex doesn't mention fees anywhere on their website. Either way, Paypal's API takes a huge cut from payments that are processed through there system. (That's why I'm recomending Stripe for, at least, small scale projects/businesses.

All small scale businesses, well, Minecraft servers are owned by 12-year-olds. So using stripe means they won't be able to get money or link their "bank account" which they don't have.

Just use PayPal tbh, everyone uses it, even the kids.
I agree with you however Stripe will still be a good addition to a application like this.

I mean if its self hosted and you dont take fees out of sales you could sell it a little higher or even a little lower than the competitors.
People will buy anything that makes them more money in the long run.
