SSDs are mostly just a luxury item if you've never used them, but once you use them, you'll never go back.
It's especially noticeable once you have a number of startup programs installed. You can boot windows and all your programs 10x faster.
Personally, I have 2x 250GB SSDs in a RAID0 config so it's double, aka 1GB/s read and write.
I also notice a lot of games nowadays (and coming this year - cough Fallout 4 cough) tend to load as much data as possible on launch to reduce or even eliminate loading screens while playing, and an SSD would definitely help (KSP down from about 2 minutes to 20 seconds)
Sounds very satisfying but the problem is I don't wanna downgrade any of my parts to save some money :p I'll see if I get money later to maybe buy a SSD.
