Valid Devouches+ New Rule & Warning with it

Hello, so basically as of recent there have been ALOT of false devouches or devouches for reasons that make no sense and are not valid at all. Things like "Devouch user is dumb" or "Devouch user is immature". These are not valid nor make sense,so we need to fix that.

We need to make it so you may only devouch if you made a deal with a user and had a bad experience. None of these stupid useless devouches that make no sense. In all honestly, I get reports on these all the time, and even in some cases people spam them, even better right?

With this new rule, if you break it (Give an invalid devouch) you will receive a warning for doing so of the amount of 10 warning points. This is more than fair as it is not only a fake devouch, but it could be screwing with others business.

Here is a total for those who are lazy and don't want to read:
-False Devouches are breaking a rule
-You get a 10 point warning for doing so
-To give a devouch, you need to have dealt with the user and ONLY give a devouch for that specific deal.

Seller can BS and lie that the Buyer has dealt with them before to get a vouch.
Seller can BS and say that they've never dealt with the Buyer if they get a devouch.

Don't think this is a good idea. Too hard to track and to deal with, since it can happen both ways.

No it doesnt. Devouches should be allowed for any reason. Why would it effect someone if it was completely bull shit? If its a bad devouch, then no one would listen to it?

This is a horrible idea. A user should be able to devouch for whatever reason they want. I had a similar incident earlier with M6Gaming where I rated his post "Disagree" and he went ape shit on me. It escalated to a PM between the two of us and @BeBosy. BeBosny ruled in my favor saying I did not need to provide a reason to disagree. Implementing this rule will be a disaster.

I'm honestly suprised you have not figured this out yet. If you have a low rep user going around devouching everyone. People will see that and say, "this guys opinion means nothing. I don't care." Same thing goes for vouches. However, if you have a high rep user like Doge go on your profile and make a devouch that devouch carries significantly more weight. The value of a vouch/devouch is dependent on a variety of factors from the users rep, how many vouches/devouches they give, etc. If someone were to abusive that the social principal of what governs how we value what that individual says will counter it. We don't need a rule for this.

I thought this was already a rule? And this also kind of falls under "Do not post content that is intended to defame or harm another member or person."

Anyway, good idea. 10 warning points will make them just complain about the warning points and not the user

It is definitely necessary to do something about false devouches. Just like vouches are meaningless if you didn't deal with the user, so are devouches. It works both ways.
Honestly I'm tired of constantly worrying if the next guy whose nose I tweak is gonna be enough of an ass to start spamming devouches.
On the other hand, I do think it'll be better if you get a single warning point for the first false devouch, then 5 for the second and 10 for the third.

Not everyone understands how vouches work, and while that in itself is not an excuse (if the rules are clear enough, anyway), it does eliminate a feeling of unfairness.

Not exactly I had a reputable person devouch me for kidding around and he decided to bring up personal chat logs etc. So people might not exactly see the bs

This puts way to much power in the seller's hand, as said in a earlier reply.

Also, I do not believe you should have to have done a deal with the user to leave a devouch. Most people can see if a deal will go bad. (Not the best way to put it, but hopefully you know what I mean)
