A vector logo is more for businesses. Vector logo's are not bound by dimension, meaning they can be stretched and enlarged without losing quality, meaning they're good for branding. They're usually small and simple, such as my own. Most server's use drawn art for their logos, not vector logos. Nobody is going to stop you from using a vector logo, but I suggest not.
