Very Ambitious Sci-Fi Server Looking for Devs (Long-Term)

Hello! I am looking for several plugin developers to aid in the creation of a space sci-fi server with very ambitious plans. Before I go any further, I want to emphasize that the beginning stages of development for this server will NOT involve pay. This will start as a passion project with a tightly knit team of developers and writers working towards common goal. Time constraints will be very loose and you may work by your own schedule. If you get tired of developing, feel free to indulge in writing lore or participating in build projects in-game. Salaries and more serious deadlines will be established once we develop stronger relations with each other and obtain clearer direction. Joining now will result in receiving senior developer ranks once the server launches.

The goal for this server is to create a large-scale space MMO that involves hundreds of concurrent players, working ships, a player-drive economy, diplomacy and politics between and within player-run nations, and a multitude of planets with unique characteristics. Think of it as a blend of ideas from EVE Online, No Mans Sky, and Minecraft. More details will be disclosed once you join the team.

I also want to emphasize that this project will be long-term, possibly lasting up to several years before the server is available for the public. Thus, recognize the fact that your work will require maintenance as Minecraft itself updates. Knowledge of the Spigot API and Java will be needed.
