We don't ban people from the site as long as they follow our rules. Before I became owner, there was abuse and users getting banned for invalid reasons which just contributed to the sites horrible reputation back then. If you don't like a user, you can ignore them, which is the equivalent to banning them and works perfectly.

For example, if a user spoils a movie's ending then they'd end up getting votebanned by users for a relatively minor infraction. The system would be abused and is completely unnecessary.
