Out of interest, how much rep from deals would you need your middleman to have in order to trust them?

In all honesty, it depends on the deal. If it is of lower worth, I would take between 40-50. Then a bigger deal like a ghoul trooper 70+

even though rep is an important factor for trust, I usally judge them from past experiences and my overall opinion on the user. I also made myself NEVER go first and always use a 50+ middleman at all times, so theres that. But usually people go first when dealing with me so I never really have to judge.
Quality over quantity, a lot of pos doesnt mean hes reputable. How a person is behaving or how hes even gaining rep can make anyone suspicious, there are so many factors on determining whether someone is trustworthy
Some people use MM's for how active they are in the community, or how many posts they have + their rep. Thats probably why Im being asked to middleman more often

Even if you would have 100000000000 I would not trust you. Even middlemans (official ones) are like condome only 99% protection

or just be smart and don't look at purely rep (I say this everytime) but I always look at the users past transactions, account age, history, and reactions. Although I don't remember the last time someone asked me to go first Kappa

edit: Theres quite a few people on here (not gonna name) that have boosted their rep with either really small meaning-less transactions or just giving stuff away for free.

Exactly what I was about to write, always check what Vexy said, and how high quality the reputations are.

I'd trust someone with no rep if they seem trustworthy and accept G&S payments.
I'd barely trust anyone with over 100 rep considering that's nearly impossible or just very cheap transactions. There are a lot of factors actually and the reputation system is no indication at all if someone is legitimate or not.

Trust your own gut, not some random number on the web.

Ngl, I would trust a guy with 0 rep to do a deal with me, though usually I like to get a middleman, even if the man has like 100 pos reps.

I'd trust a person with 20 reps.

Ha ha ha. I get the pun. >.>
I dislike middlemen, they can scam just as easily. Third parties always bring more risk to the table.

Well to me personally, everyone goes first so there isn't much of a difference.

But either way I still disregard the rep system entirely when dealing with people. It was removed once in the past because people were misusing it very badly and then it was added again. The same thing ended up happening, but the "solution" was to allow people to rep/-rep for things that aren't deal related. That of course resulted in people doing many cheap deals or doing very simple tasks to rep boost as well as people doing rep4rep. The addon was literally called "Trade Rating" or something like that and that part got edited out.

Also, someone from 2015 who did a ton of big deals and was well known before the rep system was added will always be a hundred times more reputable in my eyes than any 2017/2018 member who has like 50 rep or something.

So don't judge people solely off of rep, especially when you can get it for something non deal related. Look at how many deals they did and how much they're valued at and if you personally think they're trustworthy.

I don't even really look at rep. I've been here long before the system was implemented. I generally only go first to people I've dealt with in the past or if someone has been running a service for a few years

I look at how that person acts and if they have some reputation not a lot but more of 30 + reputation. If that person talks disrespectfully I would not deal with them at all. But it all depends on the way they act and prior experience of doing a middleman service. This is all that I think how it should be to choose a real middleman.

Landon and Cal best middlemen ever! (not a paid promo)
