I'm NaydrusS, I'm a small builder on the MC-Market community. I have 3 years of experience and worked for some well known servers, such as Minemen Club, Badlion and I have a shop in Sellfy with more than 100 builds. That being said let's begin with the story.

November 1st: A well known member of the MC-MARKET community let's call him Calvin for now, so he was offering his Sticky Thread spot to the highest bid, I sat down for a minute and came to the conclusion that I wanted to buy his spot, no matter if it meant that I would have to work 20+ hours a day for it to be profitable (at least at the start), I was in a really bad situation at the time and I didn't have much money, so I asked for a loan, and I ended up investing around $250 on my Sticky Thread, that includes buying the spot, design of my portfolios, renders and translate of my broken English on my new products to be more professional, not including what I had to pay for sites like Sellfy and Sketchfab.

Business was going great, I started to make profit out of it, not that much, but it was a decent amount for the time that I had the Sticky Thread for.

Around mid December, MC-Market updated their renew prices per month on the Sticky Threads from $13.50 to $20, which was unacceptable for how much profit you can make out of it, since I wasn't the only one complaining and many wanted to stop paying it because it just wasn't worth it, and then on January 5th a day before my Sticky Thread expired they updated their prices again and it went from $20 per week to $3.50, when I read that I was so happy I didn't have to pay $20 a week and went and paid $50.40 for 6 months for the Sticky Thre... Not so fast though, there was a problem:

My payment was stuck in pending state, either was on PayPal's or MC-Market's side, the next day I made a ticket letting them know that I made my payment for the Sticky Thread on time and neither my payment was accepted or my Sticky Thread status was updated. I got a reply saying that the payments for all AD renews were accepted, after that I thank him for his time and proceeded to close my ticket.

January 7th: My Sticky Thread was expired and my payment was still on pending state so I went and opened another ticket requesting support and I got an answer from the same guy from the last ticket saying that there was a bug with the Sticky Thread and AD system, and that they're working on it, assured me that everything was under control and they'll provide a fix soon, a few hours later my Sticky Thread was back online, though I didn't close my ticket just in case.

The next day my Sticky Thread status was updated and extended for 6 months, so everything should be fine right?... not quite, my Sticky Thread was nowhere to be found and my payment was denied but I never got the money back, I went back to my ticket and asked for an explanation to what's going on, I even tagged them on the ticket, I requested my money back several times and t'll this day, I never got a reply back from them.

While I'm still trying to get in touch with them, meanwhile someone else has taken my Sticky Thread spot on the "Premade Builds" section and they still haven't provided any help, not even a smoke signal. Also I'm still paying Calvin what I owe him for the Sticky Thread offer that I mentioned on the beginning.

At this point I'm broke, I'm not getting much money neither buyers, and most of my money is going to Calvin and a loan that I requested to someone else to pay for college, and then my girlfriend having to work extra hours to put food on the table and pay the rent. I'm a very patient dude and when an opportunity shows up I'm willing to take it, but this just got out of control and it's really unprofessional by MC-Market's part, I don't have anything against you guys but that's not how you run a business.

I was thinking on charge backing the money but it's not worth a ban on the forum and wouldn't be professional by my part. I just want things to be OK, and go on with my life.

Thanks a lot for your time, if you've made it this far into my story. I'm willing to read your comments and your take on my situation, and what should I do.

Thanks to everyone that's helped me before, specially Muero he's helped me along the way over the years, he's been a good friend to me and introduced me to MC-Market, inspired me to start building and made this post possible!

Regards,
-NaydrusS

I have to say I am not following the sticky threads (who owns the spots) for a good while already but my ad might have been the next in line... as it went active around that time. I remember the changes where they announced '$20 for week' and I was fully committed not to pay for the ad when the day will come (had an ad waiting in line probably since last summer) but once I received notification that there is a free spot and the asked price is $3.50 I was very surprised to say the least. Since the price was such low I decided to take the opportunity after all and get the ad for couple of months...

I remember sometime last year there were 6 sticky ads and when I asked how so I was told there were an issue and an extra ad spot were given to someone. So I wouldn't be surprised if this is similar issue...and as we know Mick is not keen on fixing things (khem.. embedded picture, ip leak)

Probably the best action from staff would be to offer some free ad time to you when the new spot will be available (I won't extend my ad anymore) or give an extra ad spot but it kind of goes against MCM own rules. Either way as I have tested the sticky spot for a while I can say honestly $20 is too much for it and I will not extend the ad if the price will be $12+ (Paid promotion should benefit both - the website and the creator)

Apparently their decision to raise the price was based purely on demand instead of market research.

I would like to ask a question to staff actually: If the creator receives only around 30%-50% of the money before taxes (the rest goes to design/store art, MCM advertising, various transaction/convertation fees) and the creator has to pay someone or deal himself with lots more client support.... MCM is this a fair share in your opinion? (number is not based just on my experience)

To you NaydrusS I would like to give an advice... if you are a builder, an artist then there are a lot more opportunities out there, don't invest all your precious time only on here, look for opportunities outside of MCM and improve your skills. I myself have moved on and there has been no new additions to my non-exclusive store for some good 6-7 months. If you want to be serious about what you do it's a mistake to fully rely on MCM.

P.s. Sticky price was quickly changed to $20 apparently it was just a mistake and might have been intended for "Premade Setups" instead of "Premade Builds"
