OVH, if you want your HCF server to go somewhere, get an OVH dedi.
That's how you loose your money, get a shared host that you trust and doesn't cost too much, scale it depending on your needs, then when you're ready (stable playerbase, funds, knowledge) get a vps or go directly to a dedicated server.
if you really want to, find an ovh reseller and you can get one of their lower tier dedicated servers for just a bit more than OVH charges, then wait till you need the top tier OVH server and get that one,
that's what we did and worked out well.

OVH comes with DDoS protection, servers being DDoS'd is quite a big thing if the server is actually known, on one of ViperHCF's maps they got DDoS'd by a 4TBPS I think.

Also, if you want a "stable playerbase" you can't have a shit ton of lag, it fucks up HCF in general. People don't want to play some dead server that's laggy as fuck, OVH is the best if you have the money to buy it.
Think again, largest ddos attack to date was around 800Gbps and that was targeted at OVH's datacenter. and since most shared hosts run on OVH, he'd have the anti-ddos nevertheless.

I said "scale it depending on your needs," if he scales for his needs, he won't experience lag. there's no reason to go spend $120 a month on an OVH server if you have 2 people playing, all I'm saying, the guy didn't state his budget so I assumed he was new. shared hosting is the best for inexperienced people.[DOUBLEPOST=1493288986][/DOUBLEPOST]
