Just a quick question: What hosting provider do you chose? Or what not?
Because for me it seems kind of unreasonable to get a 16gb vps, 1tb bandwith and 4 core vps from some providers when I could get a 24gb, unmeterted bandwith and 8 core vps from already established hosting provider. For example take Hetzner, there you get a decent dedicated server for around 40€; but why should I get a similar one from another hosting provider? Better costumer support?

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

When I was looking for providers I checked the following:
  • prices at competitors (too cheap was something I tried to avoid, but same goes for overpriced)
  • how established they are, reviews from multiple websites
  • options for expanding
  • information provided on the website (it surprised me how often I ended up in some weird loop when looking for some information)
  • if I wasn't sure I did a general inquiry at their support to see how fast they reply & how informative/helpful they are.
I then had a friend of mine checking up on more technical things, can't really tell you what he checked for.

It really depends what your needs are. Take Hetzner for example, they have set up fees you might not be able to pay. They have insane ip pricing now, so if your ip intensive you should avoid them. They also aren't allowed to have discord bots or apis (at least they couldn't a couple years ago from what I heard) which might be a deal breaker. But they also don't have locations outside of Europe. If those things are fine, then I would say hosts like Hetzner could be useful. But the truth of the mater is the only person who is going to be able to say what things are needed in a hosting provider is you, as I would think you know your projects needs the most.

I'd say that ReviveNode is probably the best. Support is amazing (<15m response times 24/7) and the servers are fairly powerfull
