What is the best host for a Minecraft server at the beginning?

So I am looking forward to open a Minecraft server, and need a good, pretty cheap host for the beginning.

What would you recommend me and why?

It really depends on all the variables. What is your budget, what kind of gamemode are you going to be working on, how many players do you expect, do you want full control over your host machine, etc etc. Shared hosting is usually the way to go when you're barely starting out and putting a server together.
