I iPhone XS, a nice upgrade from the 6S. I usually upgrade about every 4 years.
I love the corners of XS, no idea why.

I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. I love it. Its pointed towards more business users/Artist which is what I use it for.
Hm... I still prefer iOS. <3[DOUBLEPOST=1602870220][/DOUBLEPOST]
XR product red 128gb
I love that phoneeeeeeee!!!!!!!11!1 <3

I got the iphone 11, about to upgrade to the iphone 12 though
iPhone 12 is literally almost the same as 11, just different corners lmaoooo.

I have a HUAWEI (P20 Lite), bought it almost 2 years ago.

Now I'd like to give some tips on which phone to buy (I am by no means a profesionall with hardware, especially with mobile phones, but I feel like I know enough to give some information to others and point them in the right direction).

DON'T buy a Samsung phone UNLESS you are living in the USA or China.
- I wouldn't suggest getting a Samsung if you are from, let's say, Europe. The reason is pretty straight forward. For the same price you are buying a phone here in Europe (Samsung S20+ for example) for the same price in USA or China you are getting a better phone (While still being Samsung S20+)
Well, why's that?
Well the answer is pretty straight-forward, Samsung is selling better hardware in USA and China (Snapdragon Processors, while anywhere else we are getting Exynos). I'm not saying this change is THAT significant, but with the benchmarks running, you can definetly see that you are getting EXTRA 2 HOURS of screen time with Snapdragon (1h-2h, depends on what you are doing).
Many also stated that the phone gets overheated if you are using Exynos rather than Snapdragon.

Now, with iPhones. Should you buy them?
Well no, but still no.
You might say I am an android fanboy, but I am looking at the both operating systems and hardware and judging them OBJECTIVELY not SUBJECTIVELY.
Even if the iPhone has a good battery, good cameras, a semi-decent OS (It's pretty uncustomizable for my works, and I'd rather use an Android and customize it to look like any phone I want than use an OS that can't do sh!t) it's NOT worth the price.
You can say what you want, but we all know that iPhones are costing that much because they are just holding on their luxury and premium brand.
Apple is not willing to listen to it's customers and lower the price of iPhones because they want to remain premium (bad idea).

Why is it a bad idea?
Let me explain it to you with their standpoint. I will use the revenue they are making and show you that they can afford to lower their price models and STILL MAKE A LOT OF MONEY! MAYBE EVEN MORE THAN BEFORE!

I did some digging and found out that iPhone 11 Pro Max costs (you aren't ready for this price) ONLY $490.50.
The retail price for the phone is $1099 (Not 100% sure with this one, depends on where you live, can someone update me with their local retail price of this phone for better accuracy?)

So the profit of one phone sold ($1099 - $490.50) is $608.5.

By some reports (Not sure if official, if anyone has the official reports, please let me know so I can make this post as ACCURATE as it can get) there have been 12 million units of iPhone 11s sold (Pro Max)
Apple sold 12 million of these phones for $13188000000 and made a profit of 7.3 billion US$

Now, let's say that the retail price for iPhone 11s are ONLY $700.
Now, that's a slight decrease in price, we've lowered the retail price by around 36.31%. (I might've calculated wrongly around here, correct me if I did some wrong calculations aswell, don't wanna spread false information to anyone.)

Okay, back to the subject, now, if the phones were only $700 that means that Apple will be making ONLY $209.5 per phone sold.
Now, that looks like I just played myself, does it? Well, no I didn't.
Let's now say, that not 12 million units were sold, let's say that the sales INCREASED by some percentage?
For example, because the phone is almost 37% cheaper, let's say that 25 million MORE people could've bought the phone (before they couldn't because it's too pricey for them). Now we are at total of 37 million units that could be sold.
This now means that Apple would profit with around $7751500000. Now, this means that they've EARNED $451500000.

They have earned more money with these sales. This means that it would be profitable for Apple to lower their prices. Now, $700 maybe is too low (atleast that's what Apple would think), but, that doesn't change the fact that Apple Phones are just NOT WORTH IT. You can find cheaper alternatives that are much much better than any iPhone.

I'd never buy an iPhone unless I'd have to, or if I'd buy it that would be to try the phone out, and then sell it. I'd probably lose money, maybe I'd lose around $30 but that's not a big deal. Just try the phones out and choose what you like, I wouldn't ever recommend to anyone that they should buy an iPhone simply because it's not worth the price (Not even the OS is worth the price, it's pretty outdated with most features, but if you love it, sure, buy it. Just keep in mind you are basically getting ripped off).

Thanks for reading this, I never wanted to write a long "article" about this, but if someone needs it I am more than glad to help.
If you have any questions regarding something about phones, there's a chance I know it, shoot me a PM.

EDIT: Edited the 2nd last paragraph.
I really like your post, and agree for the most part. However, although I don't like apple either, rather it's just a preference. The cost is not based only on hardware. Rather you have to think about marketing costs and other things as well.

I agree that hardware isn't the only thing, but objectively speaking, some other phones have better performance and better hardware for the same price, iOS isn't worth it for me as I don't like the OS itself, customizability is actually just absolute zero.
I am pretty sure I've mentioned somewhere it comes down to preference, but I still think it's not worth it AT ALL.

It's such a waste of money, looks exactly like the iPhone 11 but the corners are the only thing different. Kappa

I mean, everyone has their own preference. But majority of who've visited this thread have an iOS phone. Therefore, Apple wins once again. :D

Just because the outer appearance of the phone hasn't changed drastically doesn't mean that's the only change they've made. It supports 5G, double the amount of pixels as the iPhone 11, twice the peak brightness, better colours and camera + more.
 Thanks for letting me know. I personally dislike the 5G option, but that can obviously be disabled in Settings.

Why would you be against 5G? It's over 100 times faster than 4G and accessible in more areas.
Heard some terrible things about it lmao.
