This is something that a former user of the site showed me.

It apparently says that guests can only view 10 posts until they have to make an account.

This means that guests are restricted from viewing the site, which has an extreme negative impact on the amount of views a thread can get.
I believe there was a suggestion to do just this, and that it was originally rejected out of fear of killing site growth. That it has now been implemented is extremely worrying.

I'm paying for a sticky thread, yet I know for a fact that there is no way there's enough users on MCM interested in my products for it to be viable in the long run. Without guest views, a sticky thread is NOT worth the price by a long shot.

I would like an explanation, as well as this limitation removed on everything other than the OG accounts section, which is the only place where it can theoretically make sense, and is the only reason why it was originally suggested.

This is an extremely bad move by whoever decided to do it, negatively impacting the sales of every single user of this site.

If this is to become permanent, I would honestly be inclined to charge back on my account upgrades if I had paid for them myself in the first place.

obviously I wouldnt do so yet, but this makes buying sticky threads pretty much a scam.
So. No dodging the question, no vague talk, Mick I want to know why people who are not logged in and browsing the forums get to see the image I posted.

If all they do is browse, why make an account? accounts are for if they want to post something.
I mean your entire service thread argument is gone if they aren't going to make an account lmfao, I think it's very foolish to not make an account and for you to encourage the member-base to be lower.

lol you have to look at both sides here though. Are we encouraging people to never make accounts and just continue browsing the entire time?
We're offering MC-Market as a place that's free to use whether you have an account or not. After looking through the user registration statistics I don't see any increase in registrations throughout the time Bosny owned the site.

We did hit an all-time high for user registrations last week though, and the last maximum we ever had was under my management too.

Actually, no, its not. People post their skype and other contact versions in their service threads. There's still non-exclusive selling threads like mine and that of others.

Besides, how is someone gonna know if they want an account to hire a service if they can't find said service?
How would I know that a service boosting youtube channels exists if I couldn't view it? etc etc.

I do think that this way of doing it was very strange. I do know that an alternative to this (theoretically that is, this isn't me suggesting we do implement it) is to only allow users to view the original post and first 3 comments on the thread. This allows people to find everything but doesn't mean that they have to sign up to do business.
