What's the best, but easiest editing software?

I'm a Media Studies student and they can't afford sony vegas (lol peasents) and I found that Premiere Pro is actually really easy after an hour of messing about. One thing I really couldn't figure out was effects, but I found it in the top right.
(If you're wondering what I edited, I turned the entire Despicable me 3 trailer into a horror in around 5 hours, with no knowledge of the program in the past)

Wrong, all sane users use Linux. Semi-sane uses Windows. INSANE AS FUCK PEOPLE use Mac
Wrong, it's impossible to be sane when almost every software and game only supports Windows, with some of them supporting Mac especially if they are made by Apple. The only way a sane person who uses Linux has to dual boot.
Mac = Linux - Customization + cost money + overpricedMac is Unix based I believe which is close enough to Linux.
I've always used sony vegas because of how easy it is. There are definitely better editing softwares out there with more features such as DaVinci and premiere pro. I like to think of it as the iPhone and android of editing softwares. Sony Vegas is like the iPhone, being simple, already set up, and easy to use. Where as other softwares might be more complicated, but are more customizable and have more features (like an android)

Guys just go get sony vegas in the humble bundle for $20 along with a ton of other good fun programs.
