Someone else would continue developing Skript, there are hundreds of people who could take it over.If a big server relied on script plugins, and script stopped developing their plugin for the newer versions, script plugins wouldn't be able to be used.
I also think people think script users are noobs who don't really take programming seriously.
I am not trying to determine which one is superior, just think of how many new things will come out if you remove the skill barrier necessary to create a plugin with Java, imagine how many different gamemodes will come out."Doing the same thing" Woah! I never knew Skript was object orientated with reflection, gc, networking, etc... But in all honesty, have you ever heard of a big server use Skript?
Look at the skript forums, there are some really innovative uses of it being backed by every member of the community, now look at this single post, if someone comes and backs Skripts they get put down with the same arguments over and over, those same arguments are stopping it from being in a mainstream use...Well.. If it could bring innovation, it would already be in mainstream use...
