If a big server relied on script plugins, and script stopped developing their plugin for the newer versions, script plugins wouldn't be able to be used. :p

I also think people think script users are noobs who don't really take programming seriously.
Someone else would continue developing Skript, there are hundreds of people who could take it over.

Java takes to long to learn... Skript is just a cut down, simplistic and efficient way of doing the same thing.

For the same reason Worldpainters look with some disdain upon those using EWG. While for most basic purposes, EWG will do and is generally easier to use, Worldpainter is a hundred times more volatile in use. Once you master it, a whole new world opens up that you never could imagine before.

"Doing the same thing" Woah! I never knew Skript was object orientated with reflection, gc, networking, etc... But in all honesty, have you ever heard of a big server use Skript?
I am not trying to determine which one is superior, just think of how many new things will come out if you remove the skill barrier necessary to create a plugin with Java, imagine how many different gamemodes will come out.
Right now we have Factions, Minigames, Skyblock, etc. And aside from the minigames we aren't getting anything new, servers are closing every day due to the lack of innovation that Skript could bring to the table.

Well.. If it could bring innovation, it would already be in mainstream use...
Look at the skript forums, there are some really innovative uses of it being backed by every member of the community, now look at this single post, if someone comes and backs Skripts they get put down with the same arguments over and over, those same arguments are stopping it from being in a mainstream use...
