Hey all!

I have a private server that I'd like a custom map for. I have a reference image that I found online that I've edited to perfectly suit what I'm looking for. It should help you immensely in getting an idea of what I want (attached the small version below, have a bigger one though!) Keep in mind, it's just for reference though - it doesn't need to be exact, but has the things I'd want.

The map is for creative building only, so no need for ore generation nor need for any underground caves/villages/etc.

Map size is 6-8K, I'll differ to what you think is best for the detail needed. Also, would like a variety of trees in forested areas for realism. Can answer any other questions you have!

Looking for examples of previous work and prices.

Hey all - thanks for quoting me on my project! First time doing this and everyone's been great and very helpful.

After chatting with a bunch of people (shout outs to Entity Builds and FatTaco ), including several other independents... opted to hire Yack for this project! I'll update the thread as we go, looking forward to working with him!

Final Review: I review products as part of my living, and I believe providing honest feedback is important to both the seller and to future buyers.

It's important to know that I am happy with the result. The majority of my project was done to my liking and specifications. However, as time went on communication suffered.

Gaea was communicative and open to working with me to deliver something I was happy with. We spoke over Discord, and I was VERY satisfied with how quickly he would respond. He gave me a price for a 7Kx7K map which was similar to others, and so I opted to hire him. He knew what I was looking for (based on a map guideline I provided to him.) He got to work on it immediately. He completed the first biome a day later - and NAILED IT. It was awesome and he clearly put time and effort into it. The next TWO biomes were equally well designed, and I had a couple minor bits of feedback for him that he implemented perfectly. He provided screenshots of them to show me.

I was happy with the progress and result of these three - and with seven more to go, was looking forward to seeing how the rest of the map would unfold. While the first three biomes took him about 3 days to do, he said the rest of the map would be done in 2 days. An oddly fast time considering how long the first three had taken - but I figured he was just going to spend all day on them instead. However, I didn't receive any more biome updates. He sent me the 'final' map and said I could send payment if I was happy.

Well, I wasn't happy just yet. The map size was about 2000 blocks less width wise, and 2500 less lengthwise. Flowers were placed in lines. There were skyscrapper cliffs. And he simply didn't do any of the four large islands (which made up 3 of the 10 biomes). There was also two rivers missing, and a jungle missing. I provided this feedback to him, and he planned to fix the issues.

The next update came and this time the islands were done (and I'm happy with them). But the river was still not done, nor the jungle. There was also still skyscrapper cliffs, random grass in a frozen tundra area, and some other cosmetic issues with tree stamps being used. Flowers were no longer in lines, but now were basically covering the entire land. I provided this feedback to him, and he planned to fix the issues.

He told me this would be the final update and that he had fixed all the things I asked. Satisfied that he would have fixed them, I paid him (plus a 20% bonus) - that was yesterday. Today, I've rendered the map (Dynmap) and found that he did not fix the jagged cliffs, the flower spam, trees stamps, random grass in the tundra.

OVERALL WOULD I VOUCH FOR GAEA?
Yes, but only for small projects. A few biomes, he'll nail. I was so thrilled with my decision to hire him at the beginning because of those first three biomes he did. But I feel for larger projects he simply got overwhelmed and/or lazy. I am not sure. I've hired someone else who is taking this map and fixing some of the issues I have (using world edit).

So if you have a small (under 1000 block map) need - hire Gaea! He will deliver a great result![DOUBLEPOST=1494101164][/DOUBLEPOST]
