if you grind out a set of p4 on cosmic i feel sorry for you that's genuinely a /kit
I think that wasn't the best example as no one grinds out a set like that on cosmic as they know what is used. You're comparing what's god on one server to what's terrible on another
Same plugins which results in the same problems and hordes of servers that are just a rebrand of one another. There are loads of these savagefacs/fuuid, beerspig, whatever that aids CE plugin is, etc etc and have the same issues and fall into irrelevance because the owners don't care enough to, for instance get a functional jar instead of beerspig, leaving them with the same problems as every other one of these servers.
I was in one of the top factions for a long time, I say top because we essentially won every map we played with a big ftop prize , sadly that is one of the only ways to make players want to play, and it's probably the only way that'll work anymore unless you have a big youtuber like TheCampingRusher. I'd say the main issue that has not been discussed which I don't think can be fixed is the toxicity. It would get so bad that when defending walls I would constantly be hit off there is no way this can be fixed and if you can props to you.
To my understanding, beer spigot works perfects fine. It is the plugins/hardware of the servers causing lag and bugs not the spigot. And believe me, owners do care about their servers a lot more then you think. There is just some things you can not control so you have to learn to deal with it. When I owned a faction server, if I bought something for the server and I did not like the quality I would make the person redo it. And I know other server owners that have done that same thing.
A few things:
I've worked in server management and I know a lot of people genuinely don't give a shit about the state of their servers so long it still brings in $$$, having to have plugins reworked should just be basic standards. Secondly whilst beerspig is vaguely functional it is still an awful jar and in my opinion should only be for testing. I've tested an enormous amount of configurations of beerspig, the best I saw on VexMC recently, but still most 2.4's don't work and the triangle optimisation was shoddy. If you want an actual decent jar, you've got Andrew Gazelka's and Bestle's, or you can make your own. The jar usually has little to do with lag, 90% of server side lag, I see on servers, is to do with hopper optimisations.
