48÷2(9+3) = ?
(9+3) = 12
48÷2 = 24
24(12) or 24 x 12 = 288

Final answer; 288.

Fox, Google is like a normal calculator. Sometimes you need to put in brackets manually or they'll mess up the equation. What you're seeing in Google's equation, is not what the question was asking. Please stop worshipping Google, and start revising your primary school math again.

48 ÷ 2(9+3)=
48 ÷ 2(12)=
48 ÷ 24=
2
This isn't right because you broke the rule of PEDMAS. You did a problem on the right before you did the one on the left.[DOUBLEPOST=1452043427,1452043371][/DOUBLEPOST]
People think multiplication gets done before division with PEMDAS
PEDMAS get's division and multiplication get done at the same step. Whatever comes first left to right goes first.. I know this and I'm in 6th grade.

You need to do what's in and around brackets first. If you are in 6th grade, you should know this.

Since some people don't know 3rd grade math, let me explain what PEMDAS is...

PEMDAS is an abbreviation of Prosthesis, Exponents, Multiplication & Division (whatever comes first from the left), Addition & Subtraction (whatever comes first from the left).

So you get a problem, 4x12+16÷4(7+11)

First you'd do the (7+11) as that is the prosthesis

7+11 = 18

Let's rewrite the problem now.

4x12+16÷4(18)

Now we'd do 4x12 as that is the multiplication and it is in front of the division problem.

4x12 = 48

Rewrite again...

48+16÷4(18)

Next you would do the division

16÷4 = 4

Rewrite again.....................

48+4(18)

Do the 2nd to last piece in the problem which is the multiplication.

4(18) = 72

Rewrite again.....................

48+72

FINAL PROBLEM YAY!!!

48 + 72 = 120

And.. that is how you do PEMDAS class. Stay in school!!! Don't do drugs!!!
