Hmm, I heard they have network issues all the time and the DDoS protection is awful.

Honestly, they're the best company for it. Yes, they cost a bit, but they are the best. They have good protection and good servers. They are the best option.

Yes, the dedicated game servers.
There is no best provider, all have their ups and downs, OVH Cloud (ovh's US branch) definitely has had a really rough startup but so far they've ironed out most of their issues, so it's a really good solution.
Although if you're looking for people deeper in the US like Dallas I'd recommend psychz, they've been really helpful and friendly to us and so far really reliable.
