We don't place any hard limits on RAM usage. There is an 8GB soft limit for new servers to prevent abuse, however we have developed a system that will automatically increase this as your server requires more memory. This is, of course subject to our fair use policy. Rather than offering many packages containing different amounts of RAM, we offer a single, unlimited plan, at a flat cost of $20.

Sounds too good to be true.

It not "unlimited" as in "use as much as you like" it more "unlimited" in the sense of "you can use as much until we tell you to stop".

Usually this is when a client is no longer "viable" to keep onboard (usually by the average across the board). Meaning if you're using something crazy like a whole CPU or an insane amount of RAM then good luck getting to keep that service for $20/month.

This is heavily talked about in shared website hosting so if you're in doubt you can consult those and apply it to Minecraft hosting.

The unlimited plan can't be split. If you're interested in running a BungeeCord server, we do have some additional plans with a specific amount of RAM, however these aren't currently available publicly on our website. If you'd like to order a 1GB RAM server for BungeeCord, you can use the following link: https://boostram.com/billing/cart.php?a=add&pid=3

Jw, why are the 1GB services at BoostRAM more expensive than the ones at Shockbyte? I'm assuming it because seperate companies = seperate pricing, or possibly the specs at BoostRAM is better.

Seeing a lot of doubters.

Obviously if you had a much larger and independent server then you'll go for dedicated hosting anyways.

This is the sort of service aimed at smaller / medium servers, which take up the majority of minecraft servers out there.

If you're taking up all that CPU I'd assume you'd have a pretty active server, in which case, get a dedi like most the other buggers out there with that donation $

That's a great point that you brought up and EXACTLY what "unlimited" providers are "shooting for".

They are ALL hoping that you spend $xx/month on a few GBs and when you go "boom" that you'll leave or they'll do it for you...

Honestly I would stick to the meter at all times.

BoostRAM and Shockbyte are different companies.[DOUBLEPOST=1470709923][/DOUBLEPOST]We've had an incredible response so far, thank you all for your interest and kind words.

Today we've launched our Europe location - you can now choose between North America and Europe during the checkout process.

Where in Europe are the servers located? :)

Can I maybe receive a test server for 24 hours to test the server and how the RAM system works etc.?

We don't offer trial servers, however we do offer a 24 hour money back guarantee, so you would be able to order a server and claim a full refund if you aren't satisfied with your purchase.

Okay sounds good, have to think about that though.
But there is one thing that I don't really understand, once you ordered the server, you will start with a specific amount of RAM right? And it upgrades if your server needs it, but what if the server is lagging a bit and it doesnt upgrade my server? Because I understand that you cannot upgrade to 16 GB instantely. So how does this work? It's really confusing for me :p

The server begins with an 8GB soft limit. Our system upgrades your server automatically before it is required, so there won't be any issues with delayed upgrades.

Alright, that's good! Can I maybe add you on Skype? Because I am a person that have a question almost every day, and I think it would be easier with the chat. (I won't be too annoying tho xD) :p

I've accepted your contact request to my personal Skype. If you use Discord, I'd be happy for you to add me there too - my Discord username is Mitch#8429.
