Its best to not ask for 'an hour' but to simply ask for what you need done.
If you want something done well, it will likely take more than just an hour.
I for one would hate if if I got paid $10, then found out that the person wanted me to do what is effectively 5 hours of work inside that one hour.

You say they need to be VERY experienced, so it's probably something hard. I highly doubt you'll find any who who wants to be paid $7 for an hour's work.

the builds weren't big, i just wanted them to be done well, with imagination, effort and creativity. I paid someone who worked for $10AUD per hour and everything came out fine.

well, that's good then. It's still generally a better idea to tell people what you want instead of just saying a price and a time.
