Note that when running executables there can be malware hidden in them. Also note that the extra speed provided by Golang is negligible in most cases, and shouldn't really be a selling point.
GLWS.
Its not my logo its just the logo for a discord library in golanginteresting logo...
As someone else has said, the extra speed is just not noticeable to a casual customer.Speed is speed, second of all while its true that malware can be in an EXE malware can also be in a .js file or a .py file. But since they are literally bundled with source code its not an issue.
well the extra speed wont matter since in 99.99% of cases u will be bottlenecked by IO anyway not the speed of the languageAs someone else has said, the extra speed is just not noticeable to a casual customer.
If we are wrong with the above statements, please make a demo to validate your claims.Furthermore bots coded in Golang such as the ones I provided are proven to run faster than ANY other popular language for discord bots.

to be fair this is kind of a moot point since there are other languages used for bots that will probably be faster

Due to the fact that Discord API is where most speed is held up at, not on the bot side.

Depends how you optimize your assembly discord libraryI feel like my assembly discord bot is faster than your discordgo bot.
That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard, certain languages can process calculations faster than others, which means they are a faster language. There is a lot more to using the discord APIs than visiting them in your chrome browser.no one language is faster than the other
Don't respond trying to act smart if you don't know what you are talking about, and the other point of needing optimized code to run faster is correct, however that has nothing to do with the raw speed of a programming language. And the part about getting flagged is partially true, but its not an issue. Especially if you are running on Linux like most bots that are hosted 24/7 are.Well, excuse my fucking language for being incorrect, I am only 15 after all, and I don't know everything about coding langauges. But my other points still stand.
It depends on what the bot is doing if its just replying to simple commands that return text it probably wouldn't be noticed. But not all bots are simple, advanced bots that require calculations and other resource intensive things it is noticeable, and I offer EVERYTHING possible in a bot on this thread hence the "Negotiable" pricing for bots that are very specific & advanced. Therefore it is a selling point as it is a faster languages. So its not a lie.Alright, but as every other person who has responded in this thread has stated clearly that speed really doesn't matter (in terms of the client noticing), therefore, it isn't a good selling point.

Man, if you joined yesterday, its probably not the best idea to flame with members of the community. Also, the other points still stand, if the client can't see the speed boost, don't advertise it. Can't just come in here and claim your bots are "faster" and "more efficient" with your evidence being "google it". Prove that clients can see the speed boost, or don't advertise it.
Not saying it's a lie (or trying to say it is), but it just isn't a selling point as the speed probably isn't that huge of a noticeable difference to the client/person who purchased the bot.
but, since this is a pointless quarrel over a programming language, I'm no longer responding to this thread, but I do wish you luck with the clients that come by![]()
This thread was not designed for "Simpletons". I use Golang professionally on multiple projects. Just because I joined this specific site Yesterday does not mean I started coding yesterday, I have 3 years experience with Node.JS and 2 with Golang. I know the differences. And again, not every client is a simpleton, some clients require very advanced bots which is why this thread was created because I am aware that "average" developers such as yourself are unable to supply these kinds of bots, therefore how I advertise my threads is valid for the type of client I am seeking.
