Closed as all positions have been filled. Thanks to all who were interested!

Hello all, I'm FrumpySnoogler. I currently represent and own a relatively small under-development server named CompassCraft.

As the title implies, I'm here looking to hire some Dedicated Developers (in both the plugin and configuration fields) and perhaps a resident Modeler or two. The server budget is currently small (in other words it's all coming out of my pocket, at least until we launch and it begins to turn profit), but you will receive a steady monthly payrate, which will only scale upwards as the server's budget grows.

I apologize for the lack of visuals and fancy shmancy graphics in this posting, I can't currently justify budgeting in some illustrations just for a hiring post. Nevertheless, the information I'll give is as detailed as I can manage, and I hope you give us due consideration regardless.

About the Server
CompassCraft is an RPG server hoping to give the same depth of experience as major MMORPG titles such as AlbionOnline, but within Minecraft. Our vision is for a large, ever-expanding medieval fantasy world, which is dynamic and influenced down to the most minute detail by the actions of the playerbase.

The features we have planned are numerous, and limited only by what Minecraft dictates possible. Player races, classes, skills and levelling are a major focus for us. Other aspects we'd like to implement include dungeoneering, player kingdoms and diplomacy, and a fluctuating economy. I've currently invested just shy of $1000 in the server within the last 2 weeks alone, so the money (within reason, ya boy ain't Jeff Bezos just yet) and commitment are there.

CompassCraft itself is being made to primarily facilitate an existing gaming roleplay community from a mobile game. With that game slowly spiraling into obscurity and inactivity, the community in question are slowly breaking off to other platforms, trying to re-establish on other titles. Minecraft, a select few of us have come to realize, is perhaps the prime choice for this. That being said, we do have a launch expectation of a playerbase numbering anywhere from 500-700 players, with a projected concurrent online count of 60-100. That's not to say further marketing won't be invested in when the time comes, so this number may only go upwards.

About the Staff
Currently the staff team is a modest four strong. I'll give a small profile on each, so you can have a general idea of what the homies are like, should you pursue a position with us.

FrumpySnoogler (Owner) - Yours truly, I'm a 23 year-old extremely recent university graduate with a lot more time on my hands than I probably should have. For CompassCraft, I more or less serve in the capacity of a General Manager, as well as being the bankroll.

Cosmocraft (Web Manager) - Another young adult and current university student, is also known as Bugov/Nylius. Cosmo being the only one of us with any significant web development/coding knowledge is our Web Manager, and handles everything on that end; be it Discord or our website.

Laken (Server Administrator) - Yet another young adult, starting university. Laken is like myself, in terms of server contribution. More of a general help guy.

WiseAurelius (Head Game Master) - Last but not least, the final member of the Fantastic Four. WiseAurelius/Nate is another university attending young adult, and in charge of all matters lore and world building, as well as moderation.

About the Applicant
Yes, you! We're a lot more interested in who you are, than what you bring to the table. Someone willing to commit to the long-haul, who's a great fit for the staff team and dedicated to the vision we all share for CompassCraft is a million times more valuable to me than some coding wizard who can shoot out plugins in minutes, but has no drive nor passion for the server. That being said, the current team does lack a lot of Minecraft development/back-end experience, so position wise; here's what I'd expect out of you.

Plugin and Config Developers

- Have at least an Intermediate understanding of plugin coding and/or configurating. Don't need to be a prodigy, but I can't afford to be paying beginners either. If you still have a lot of room to grow, and wish to gather experience and practice, but aren't utterly lost when staring at the code in a .jar file, you're the person I'm looking for.
- Passion for the server and the vision. The best work is done when you're interested in it, and that's the bottom line. If you can't get the same hard-on for what CompassCraft can (and will, hopefully with your help!) be as the rest of us, you might not be the best fit for us.
- Availability and willingness to commit to a long-term position. We're not here searching for people who want commission work, or short-term contracts. You'll be heavily involved in the creation of a lot of foundational plugins and such, and I'd take a lot of comfort knowing if something breaks or needs updating down the line, you'll still be around to mess with your own code. Too many people scripting the same thing leads to an absolute mess more often than not as I've come to learn.

Modelers

- Your style needs to be blendable with the default Minecraft vibe. While I truly appreciate and am often awe-struck by some of the custom models I see out there, it always rubs me wrong when they clash horribly with the default style Minecraft has. If you can balance both unique and minecrafty, please do apply.
- Experience with MythicMobs, Oraxen and ModelEngine a plus. We use ModelEngine for custom mobs, and Oraxen for custom everything else. Alongside MythicMobs, a candidate with experience using all 3 of these plugins would be the ideal hire. Basically a one-stop shop for implementing custom stuff if you will.
- Passion for the server and the vision. Same as above.
- Availability and willingness to commit to a long-term position. Same as above.

You can contact me to apply by either sliding in my DMs on here, via discord at FrumpySnoogler#8737 or (absolute last case scenario) via email at [email protected]. Please include a little rundown about yourself as an individual, what interests you in a position at CC, the type of payrate you're hoping for and link any portfolios, resumes or examples of past work.

Thanks for the interest, and I look forward to talking to any future applicants!
