What's your point? Are you saying they are paying too low? Plugin developers != software engineer.

Guess what Minecraft plugins are. Also what you've just said implies that almost all Hypixel devs aren't Software Engineers. Let's be serious.

I already rated your post winner, but it's just insane how much I agree with this. I won't say anything else though because I'm probably on the verge of offending a lot of snowflakes.

Imagine coming on MC-Market expecting to be compensated as much as a full-time software engineer working at a large company. You all must be joking right? This is a side job for most people, and if you're looking for a full-time software engineering job paying $34/hr, then I don't believe MCM is the best place for that.

The people taking on these jobs are probably not even half as skilled as the people making $34/hr, and this is the perfect opportunity for them to learn and improve their skills while getting compensated. Are you telling me you would pay $34/hr for a mediocre developer to make you a Minecraft plugin?

100% agree, $13/H is actually a pretty nice pay. I don’t see why people hate, it’s Minecraft lol.

Because Minecraft plugins and clients still take skill to make. Especially if its clean, expandable code. I doubt someone who took years to master java is going to work $13/hour. The second person who commented was correct, this is for people who are new or don't realize that they can make a lot more off of programming

Hey, we're mainly looking for individuals interested in contract work at around 5 to 20 hours per week. We are not offering fulltime employment nor the same benefits as we're looking to hire independent contractors who can work with Coral Dev to service our clients.

We believe that $13/hr is a fair rate given the experience needed and work required to fulfill the job. We're mostly looking to hire young developers who'd like to get their footing into a contract position and looking to work within the Minecraft scene in a more professional, organized manner.

Listen, if a developer is getting payed $13/hour then the code is going to be messy and impossible to expand off of

I pay for what you bring to the hour, not by the hour. We work with developers who are passionate about plugins development and have shown their ability to do so.

This position is contract work only, not fulltime employment. We expect our contractors to have other sources of revenue and commitments as we do not limit their working capacity to Coral Dev only (we do not enforce a non-compete clause).

What does this even mean? You decide how much you pay after it's done? That's not any better

"We work with developers who are passionate about plugins development and have shown their ability to do so"
Well passion doesn't pay the bills buddy

The point still stands, you underpay your developers

This is my final response to this thread, I don't feel like repeating things or getting spam reported because you got mad (has happened to me before. Good luck finding devs, I recommend you increase the pay

"I pay for what you bring to the hour" is an expression that means that I pay people who make the most out of their hours instead of someone who meagers their way through it. In other words, I'd like to onboard people who are passionate about their work and have fun creating plugins.

You're speaking as if this opportunity is a full time position in a different industry. It is not, we are looking to hire contractors to fulfill at most part time work. We believe $13/hr is fair compensation for the work you are performing. If a developer does not agree with this rate, they are free to find other opportunities.

I agree. Most developers on MC-Market (and tbh, including myself) aren't anywhere close to the level as developers who work for $34/h anyways, so I don't see the point everyone is trying to make.

Think the payment is too low? Just don't apply. No need to cry on about the payment being too low. It's minecraft, come on guys, even a lot of decently sized minecraft servers don't pay $34/h.

$34/h is a lot for minecraft developers, unless they're not just minecraft plugin developers, I agree with the amount of money, although i disagree with almost every comment here too, developers should be paid by their skill, not an set price, i've seen many skilled developers being paid with the same amount of bad developers, let's be real too, 98% of the developers on MC community do not know what a bit is, $13/h is a good amount depending on what type of project is taken, i bet 50% of devs know what the main thread is
