So what gives people an incentive to donate to faction servers? They're not gonna donate for trails, that's already usually a perk for higher tiered ranks anyways, so what's the point in donating a server now??
Not all perks need to be 'particles and trails' to be allowed. If a perk grants the whole server the benefits then it is also allowed to be done, take Hypixel's boosters for example. So what gives people an incentive to donate to faction servers? What do Hypixel's boosters actually do? I'm also talking strictly faction servers. Not all perks need to be 'particles and trails' to be allowed. If a perk grants the whole server the benefits then it is also allowed to be done, take Hypixel's boosters for example.
Hypixel's boosters multiple the amount of 'coins' received from a match which are then used to buy perks like ingame kits/ingame buffs. It can be applied to Factions servers as well with certain plugins or certain ideas, just that it needs to give the entire server the effect. What do Hypixel's boosters actually do? You need to realize that faction's is a huge competitive gamemode, a lot of people have grudges towards people, etc. Not a lot of people would want to help enemy factions by using their own money.Hypixel's boosters multiple the amount of 'coins' received from a match which are then used to buy perks like ingame kits/ingame buffs. If they had some type of minigame they could do boosters like hypixel. You need to realize that faction's is a huge competitive gamemode, a lot of people have grudges towards people, etc. Not a lot of people would want to help enemy factions by using their own money.
What minigame would be on a faction server? Lmao, I personally think factions itself, not most other gamemodes unless competitive IE: HCF and KitPvP servers, will most likely die, they will lose more money for hosting than getting income to even run it none the less, builders, developers, etc. Most competitive and high skill cap gamemodes will most likely die impo.If they had some type of minigame they could do boosters like hypixel.
Less competition = more meaningful, well thought out, unique servers. What minigame would be on a faction server? Less competition? What are you talking about? A LOT of people love competitive gamemodes, "meaningful" means nothing, people like strategizing and fighting each other and battling wit with one another, look at any competitive game like: CS:GO, LOL, Dota, Starcraft, etc. They're all competitive, they're not "meaningful" so I don't get what your logic is?Less competition = more meaningful, well thought out, unique servers.
I didn't say competitive. I said competition. What I am saying is if Minecraft ever took action against servers unwilling to comply, that would be less competition for other server owners who are being inventive in their plugins and presentation. Which means overall better servers.Less competition? What are you talking about? Let me restate my original question though: "What incentive is there to donate on a faction server" hm? I'm talking strictly the gamemode will most likely die along with other competitive gamemodes like KitPvP and HCF.I didn't say competitive. I said competition. EDIT: Let the servers who can't adapt "die."
you can't buy items period, you can't buy abilities period, Badlion donator's get an advantage by being able to play more and get higher elo than someone else who hasn't, not entirely sure if that follows EULA entirely but it kind of seems like it does. But you can't sell items or abillities like: fly, echest, etc. cause it gives an "advantage"Well, Servers like Badlion are able to get many donors, while not giving any unfair advantages to donors. KitPVP and HCF will become more creative, and so will Factions.
Owners and developer of servers will find unique and creative ways to seduce the players into buying a certain ability, item or something else.
I see this to be the best thing that ever happened to Minecraft, and I think players will be more attracted to the game.
(Except I do not think rich Asian kids will be to stoked, they will have to actually work instead of buying $1000 worth of ingame stuff"
The best incentives to get donators are often the ones minimal effort servers provide. Originality. Also, you shouldn't be running a server if you think it's going to bank you mad money. You should host servers because you simply enjoy it. It's just like anything. If you do what you love and do it well, you can and will find a return in it. Whether that be money, sponsors, or simply a thriving community.Let me restate my original question though: "What incentive is there to donate on a faction server" hm? I'm not talking about money, I'm saying able to break even with the money you put in.The best incentives to get donators are often the ones minimal effort servers provide. Originality. I can agree that their Minecraft Crates of Loot look just like a spoof of Loot Crate. Also the fact that Realms didnt do so well on the past could effect how they view servers. Honestly would have been more simple for mojang to just make an official server than just realms.[DOUBLEPOST=1457144467][/DOUBLEPOST]I still think they made Eula cause there jelouse servers make more. Then there "Loot Crates" shit. There always finding ways for us to spend more on there game or events. When they notice we spend more on servers xD
Well, without the EULA, mostly Pay to Win or better advantages in game. With the EULA, cosmetic or anything that doesnt give you an advantage.[DOUBLEPOST=1457144553][/DOUBLEPOST]So what gives people an incentive to donate to faction servers? Factions, I believe, is the most common gamemode/server type out there. Most are basically the same but I can see how a server like CosmicPVP can stand out from the others as they have quite the selections on their network.[DOUBLEPOST=1457144650][/DOUBLEPOST]What minigame would be on a faction server? Well it depends honestly. Mojang probably saw that players were getting into other's accounts and using them for their own profit and is probably why they locked them. In my opinion, if its someone elses account - then you should leave it alone and not use it for your own profit, but if its your own that you have bought - you should be able to do whatever you want with it.The only thing the EULA does that is decent is stop servers that make you pay $1000 for a kit. They should have just left the accounts alone.
Yeah I had an account, it was one of my favorite in my collection that got locked. It had a cape that I put in it and I never tried to sell it. That didn't stop it from getting locked though....I can agree that their Minecraft Crates of Loot look just like a spoof of Loot Crate.
