This concept has already been discussed in the Discord, mostly by people wanting to sell Discord Nitro through the credit card method. (If you know the method, you know it. I'm not gonna share it).
Currently, it's cheaper for the sellers to buy Nitro and charge you a bit extra for what they pay. (Example, they pay 20 euro for an entire year, (normally 100). And you pay them 30 or 40 instead)
Officially, this is illegal with the credit card companies most of the time, but this depends per CC company and their country's laws.
In the same way however, selling Discord servers is illegal as explained by the community guidelines. However, selling these is still allowed and is still a market on BBB.
However, the Nitro selling is forbidden due to the fact most Nitro is obtained through nitro gift scams, risking not only the buyers account. But also draining money from people who where trapped in these scams.
The same risk exists with the above method, where the seller could issue a refund on the card. And the Nitro being revoked. Or the account of the person who pays, getting disabled/deleted for "refunding nitro without permission blablabla (legal mumbo jumbo)".
My feedback is:
- Disallow selling Discord servers in just like with Nitro, or Discord accounts. Or even boosting services.
Now, most people won't agree with this because it's a market on BBB, but facing the truth.
There is already a "You cannot sell items that break the rules/eula of a platform" rule on the BBB wiki.
However, if you have a counterargument. Feel free to provide it below, BBB staff looks at these (eventually).
