Hey everyone! Everywhere where plugin development services are offered I see people asking for the best places to learn Java and plugin development. Very few people follow Java documentation but instead result to video tutorials that teach very poor practices. The other day I discovered a Udemy course that was listed for $100. I watched one of the available preview videos and I was blown away at the amount of incorrect information being taught and distributed to the instructors students. After discovering this, I decided to create my own course for everyone in this community.

First, let me introduce myself and my background. My name is Matthew and I am going into my senior year of high school. I have programmed applications, games, and Minecraft plugins since early 2014 for clients and my own projects. Earlier this year I landed a job as a Software Developer for an Inc. 5000 company. Everyday I work with top notch engineers on a very large code base. This job has given me knowledge of real world programming practices that will be a huge benefit for anyone looking to get into software development of any kind.

Most courses in this community teach you how to develop very specific projects; however, at the end of them you do not know how to take that information and create your own unique projects. This course will first teach you the fundamentals of Java programming and the best practices for writing good, clean code. Afterwards, I am going to dive into the Bukkit API. I am going to teach you about the different components of a Minecraft plugin and create many projects with you. At the end, I am going to walk you through the entire process of taking your idea and translating it into a working plugin, no matter what it is.
