Don't you think that waiting until the interview stage would make applicants not want to go through the process? Why not just say we plan on paying you $x/hr or $x for this certain type of project. Just seems a little odd to me but it's just my opinion

I see your point, although as stated in the thread, we are trying to search for developers/players actually interested in the server idea rather just the "get the job done," get paid, end-result type.
