Damn, I was going to suggest getting a car that's like $3000. Wasn't expecting to have such a high budget of 50k.

Whatever people recommend and whatever you end up choosing, hope you like your new ride.

Yep. Initially, when purchasing the car I have now, it was a means of building credit and a temporary solution. Now that things are starting to get into gear job wise, it's reasonable to purchase another car now and use the credit. The volvo is still my top choice, it's such a sexy car...I'm shocked by it

Yeah, to be honest I like all cars as long as it isn't skinny. I just sold my Chevrolet Matiz (2009) and it was that skinny that shifting was problematic if I had a passenger in the front seat with me.

I was going to recommend a Mitsubishi Lancer GS4 (if you/anyone was curious enough to care).. But that's like NOTHING compared to what you've listed haha

For luxury cars, I would say the wisdom in the current market is to buy a year or two out. A 2017-2019 model in most circumstances will be a way better value than an entry level luxury car.

For Example
in my area, I found a listing for a 2019 well optioned E450 with 1,000 miles for $50,000. That is certainly a better value than any A Class. If you didn't want that, what about a 2017 Model S equiped with Premium paint and wheels, Full Self Driving
& Air Suspension and 23,000 miles for $45,000.

If I were in your situation,
I would seriously consider a 2019 A7 it's an incredible value for the amount of car you get and how long that will be cutting edge. The Model S previously discussed, or a 2018 BMW 7 Series. I most certainly would not buy any of the cars you are considering new, save for maybe the Lexus, but only if I got the deal of a life time.

Or save the money, Alfa Romeo Giulia will get you the same status and quality for half the money if you buy it used.

I would be careful with the cars you listed.
Save for the Volvo, you are really paying for the prestige of the brand, but you lose out on a lot of the features that actually make the brand valuable.

This is definitely something that's valuable to bring up. Personally, I never really thought of volvo as a "prestige" brand. However, there's no denying this - the car is sexy. It's an incredible looking piece of craftmanship. I love it.

Audis are definitely something I would take a look at. These are just the first-round of cars that I'll be looking at. They'll be crossed out in terms of ride quality, car features, and maintenance costs, along with the monthly payments, including the amount I would have to put down to bring the payments down. If any Audi were to be purchased, I would love to have the A8. Fuck me man, they're so nice.

BMWs are off the table, sadly.[DOUBLEPOST=1601947611][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yeah, it's definitely a lot different. I'm more of a luxury person, not so much a sporty person. I like to be pampered and enjoy driving a car, not feel every single crack and bump on the road, haha

I get that, but where I live luxury is a really rare thing here. Personally I didn't chose it because it's sporty though. The car is wide for decent comfortable use and it has so much room. It's just not "modern" as modern cars are right now. Maybe 5-6 years old est.

Regardless, hope you like the new car bro :D

Not sure why you thought it was a good idea to ask for car advice on a forum where the majority is under 18 and doesn't own a car but alright.

Please don't get it the wrong way but in my opinion, judging from your post it seems as either you just want to share the fact about purchasing the car with Mc-Market community or your only concern is truly only about the look of the car and what's on the features list... If this is the case then other people's opinions won't and shouldn't really matter to you... you can buy whatever you like the best.

Personally I would pay the most attention to long term reliability over everything else, insurance costs, upkeep costs (make sure you fully understand what's covered in warranty terms), resale value, any extra taxes/restrictions government might add in the future ( e.g. for diesel motors in EU, in some/areas cities you cannot even drive with older diesel cars anymore), etc. ...there is a lot more than just a pretty look. And since I can drive a stick shift I would avoid automatic transmission as the plague.

From a reliability and resale value standpoint in my opinion Toyota Corrola would be 1st choice and Lexus 350 2nd. Also, it's suggested by many to look into 1-5 year old used cars as you would save a lot of money that way.

I posted it here because there’s some people who also enjoy cars, and if you read the thread, you would have seen that the looks is not the only factor in making this decision...

I’m not a first time car buyer, I know what I’m doing, and as for other people’s opinions shouldn’t matter - there’s nothing wrong with discussing it.

I’m not too sure why you felt the need to post this though. It’s not exactly helpful when most of your points were already covered, and you decided not to read. I digress though, this is mcm where everyone has a mentality that they know everything.

I would avoid the A8 in your price range. You would be a generation out of date for that model, the A7 (Type 4K8) however would be close at around $55k and have the latest gen Audi technology. You can also get a 2018 S5 Sportback that would be nearly identical in terms of driving performance (both cars were built on a nearly identical platform), but a little less fancy on the interior, for a little less to bring it exactly into your range.

If your going for the most luxury for the money, a 2017 S550 is a no brainer, nothing else in it's class for that generation can even begin to compete. One can be had near me with 23,000 miles in your price range. That would also achieve any prestige your looking for handedly for some time to come.

I do think you should consider the 7 Series I mentioned previously, particularly the i6 and V8 models, both were built on time tested N63 platform, a 2018 V8 should be the most reliable version of the car you can get. It will be cutting edge for some time, and honestly, at $50,000, is a hell of a deal.

Not gonna lie these cars are really cool. But in complete honesty, I actually don’t see a reason you should be getting this high of a price car. For me personally, I’d say get a Audi A3 (if you want something with a bit more flash) or a VW Golf GTI. I’m from the UK and these are some of the most reliable cars I’ve seen. But really that Mercedes does look very nice. If I had the money I would get that

See, here's the problem with getting an Audi like that...

Sure, I could get a decent A3, and a decent A4 at that price point - but the problem comes in with branding. Why would I get an Audi A3 when I can just get another Jetta? They're more or less the same, and the A4 is arguably comparable to a Passat or an arteon, but I wouldn't be able to get a high trim with the A4.

That volovo is undeniably an credibly sexy car. The S60 and S90 are incredible cars, I really want one

3D renderings and spec sheets are all nice and pretty.
Visit the dealerships, sit inside them, maybe take them for a test drive, see how they make you feel.
For $50K they better make you feel bloody good LMAO

That's the plan. Those aren't 3rd renderings, they're actual pictures of the cars.

Yes, $50k is a considerable budget for a car. It better do everything I want, and then some. Volvo seems to be the most feature-packed and luxury car.

All interior shots are definitely 3D renders. Unless they make a version of that Volvo without a B pillar and doors ;)

Ah, good catch. Who knows - they may have some special car built for that, but probably not. I digress, it's still a really nice interior.
