how is this a troll
it only has a couple games worth real value
If you really feel that way, okay I guess. To me, it still seems like throwing away money YOU yourself spent on games lol.

Maybe on Minecraft. Most definitely not in the real world. I live in a first world country and the demand is still insane. I'm a CS student. I barely know anyone who doesn't already have a job offer even though they're still a good chunk of work away from even getting their bachelor's degree yet.
Minecraft development is a good way to get into coding though.
I meant in the real world lol. I’m not a CS student (Mathematical Biology), but a lot of my friends are CS students in their 3rd year. None of them have offers. Maybe they’ll roll in on their last year.

Or (far more likely) it depends on where you live.

I have to tell you that is more than incorrect.
Most places need developers to even function as most stuff like payments is done virtually now and most shops have automated systems. Even your local Cornershop might have a developer who sets up their website etc.

Supply of developers and demand of developers is not equal but the supply is slightly less.

Your friends who do CS may not have a job because they have no been looking properly for one or putting themselves out there. You need a portfolio to even consider trying to get a job.

This very well may be the case. I don’t know how they manage their portfolios or look for future employment.

This seems a bit… far fetched for me. Yes, most payment is done virtually, but most small businesses that take virtual payment use an established company to go through (Square etc). I can’t imagine Square would need many employees compared to the millions of businesses that use them. You’re implying a developer for every store. Be honest with yourself: it’s not like that.

I mean small businesses may have a developer to make websites or applications.
Programming is and will forever be a growing section to jobs. No matter how you look at it.

You established that companies use square, square has over 600 employees and most are programmers.
This is the same with most companies, for example Google has around 50k developers, this shows that most companies will require developers and do require them.

A burger shop down the road from me has a website and application, obviously, this didn't just randomly appear and perhaps they could generate a website with platforms like WIX but their application probably required a developer.
I don't see how you can make a judgement considering you said yourself you don't even study CS and you are directing your views from your friends who haven't gotten a job offer.

Somewhat disagree with that statement... having money sit (especially in large sums) is not beneficial and in some cases can be harmful in terms of inflation etc. etc. Learning about things such as the stock market etc. etc. can be extremely beneficial in the long run (especially in terms of large sums of money). For example, we got low-risk stocks and stocks that pay dividends which will be in your favor if you can do the research.
Unfortunately, the people who think that once they have $100 in their PayPal account means that they need to go and spend it on something are not the people who will realize that their savings account only earn them like 0.01% a year.
You don't even really need to do investment research, and a lot of people get scared when they think about the stock market. Really just open a savings deposit account or a CD to start growing your savings immediately and safely.
