Let's talk about Gun Control!

Do you support the 2nd Amendment (The right to bear arms) in 2019?

If guns were banned, think about prohibition also.

Alcohol is a great example. It was banned. What happened? People bootlegged, traded it illegally.

What did the government do about this? They made alcohol legal again.

This is on a much broader scale. If we take away guns, we're taking away protection. People will still trade guns illegally. Nothing will be fixed by banning guns.

The solution is in theory to treat people with love and respect, but that is impossible because there will always be people who are filled to the brim with hatred. We just need to try our best to do what we can to love others, and show compassion and forgiveness. That's really the only thing we can do.

The problems are:
1. The media - they are smug and think glorifying each shooting will help when in reality they are setting up the next mass shooting.
2. Mental health - hard to tackle and provide a worthwhile solution without violation of civil liberties.

This is a sensitive topic. I don't think it should be discussed here...

Banning guns, in general, I don't think is a bad idea, but I think the US is way too far into it to do it now.

No argument so just mock what we are saying good for you![DOUBLEPOST=1564980140][/DOUBLEPOST]Yes removing guns from the equation would result in zero mass shootings in the future but then attackers will just move on to other methods (uhaul trucks, homemade bombs, etc). These shootings are a symptom of a greater problem and the root cause is clearly mental health issues.

But do we outlaw being a loner or being anti-social? I can't think of anything valuable to say in terms of solving mental health. I think I'm done for now, good night people.

In my eyes, time will fix this problem relative to about 150 years.[DOUBLEPOST=1564980437][/DOUBLEPOST]Arguing over a seemingly impossible scale solution is not practical in any sense. This country is sort of set on the fact that you have no say in this no matter how much you desire for the system to change, so long as the government believes it shouldn't change.
sooo, 50 people a day in mass shootings for 150 years, hmm lol

If that's what it takes, its actually the most practical solution. In a large scale, your feelings don't matter in sacrifice for practicality and it can be frustrating.
sheeeesh, we just went full ussr real quick with the whole expendable population and what not lol

Am I wrong? The history of the US government's acts have been pretty subpar.
well hey, an optimist would say, do what you can to change the government and make your voice heard. It does seem like there's no great answer though

Most mass shootings occur with ILLEGAL guns. Look at a city like Chicago, it has relatively strict gun control yet is a city with one of the highest homicide rates via gun in the nation.

Taking away the right to bear arms punishes the millions of LAW ABIDING gun owners that quite frankly probably are the some of the most responsible citizens because of the hoops you need to jump through to obtain a legal firearm. Abolish that right and people who have illegal guns will still continue to kill with illegal guns, they aren’t rule followers anyway.

Why are we talking about Gun Control on a Minecraft Trading & Sales Market?

Though, I'm in favor of the 2nd amendment right, if we limit guns that won't get rid of them, it'd just encourage a black market for various guns.
I proudly open carry, and members of my family open carry. We're not terrorist, we're American citizens looking to protect ourselves against assholes like these two in the shootings the passed few days.
I hate to say it how it is but you're never going to stop gun violence, mass shootings and other terroristic acts with guns, and WoMD's, though I do believe there are better ways to prevent situations like this.

Already said it once in this thread, but I'll say it again. These kids have proven based on the intelligent, thought-provoking responses in this very thread that they are smarter than they appear.

though I do believe there are better ways to prevent situations like this.
Enlighten us.
