High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

I don't understand why you developers always have to be at least at minimum wage. It's not even a full-time job, so no one is obligated to pay you anywhere near $10/hour. My server setups alone take 11-12 hours each and then I get paid around $50 each for them, which I'm certainly happy with. Yes, I know the work of a developer is hard, but you're working in your house in comfortable conditions, so it's not like you should be paid $10/hour. People who are working in factories earn less than $10/hour, so I just think demanding a $10/hour wage is slightly overboard.
We can't work in a house with comfortable conditions unless you pay us at least minimum wage. How do you expect me to pay for college?
I also found this.
The average rate for a Factory Worker is $11.99 per hour
I work for what I think I am worth. From what I have seen, developers who work for practically nothing are most likely new and will provide you with poor code. You charged $50 for 10 hours of 'server setups.' This is completely different and all they had to do was write in a markup language that is so simple it isn't even considered a markup language. When you make it to the real world, you will realize that $10 an hour is incredibly cheap for a freelancer.

Although I grasp the point you're trying to make, this is when I wish the "Disagree" button was still available.
You state why us developers shouldn't charge $10/hr, but everyone has a right to charge what they would like.
Personally, I charge over $10/hr using my pricing module, but I feel that it is supported by the work I provide.
If the client isn't satisfied with my prices, that person can always go and find another freelancer.

That's just the glory of the freelance world.

Not going to keep fighting this considering I work two jobs. However, factory workers work 8-12 hour shifts everyday. The factory in my town is a steel forgery and the workers make steel parts all day. In my opinion, $11.99 isn't enough. In your case, you sit behind a screen adding onto code that you have used in the past.

I'm no Java developer but I have a stable view on the real world and developing is nothing compared to a factory worker.
