Since you've decided to bring up my time and what I've done with it, let's look at your's shall we? In the span of two years you have amounted nearly enough warning points to receive a ban because you choose to break the rules and now you make a suggestion to essentially vindicate yourself from your previous faults. On top of that in the span of the 4 years I have been here I have only received one warning and I could honestly care less that I have it. I broke the rules and guess what now my actions are posted as a constant reminder. On top of that the reason I only have two reputation is because I stopped using the site when the reputation system was implemented. Before there was a system, you had to do deals without having a system telling users you were reputable. I conducted dozens upon dozens of deals prior to the new system being in place. But hey, you weren't even around in those days so you have no idea what you're even talking about right? Ignorance is bliss :)
"i care about this and i make sure i keep myself updated with it unlike you! fucking abnormal abomination"
could care less about what you did or whatever, goody 2 shoes[DOUBLEPOST=1554045203][/DOUBLEPOST]
New suggestion: Read the rules and you don't get warning points, its honestly not hard.
The time it took you to make this, you could have been reading the rules and working to adjust your behavior.
Instead you post here ranting how you can't be a good member in this community.facepalmfacepalmfacepalm

Just based off this last reply to another member in the community, giving your suggestion feedback you haven't changed much.
Ill enjoy watching for your ban, your suggestion was dumb and the community doesn't need toxic people like you here.

you - forum side
me - marketplace mostly
when you're borderline near getting banned, its hard being paranoid about what you're doing because you've spent good time on here, but i've sorta realized for you aswell would be the same scenario so i apologize about that.

I’ve found that the closer you are to being banned, the more rule abiding and less toxic the user gets as they become more aware of our policies. Is that not a benefit to the whole community in the end?

I agree that some warnings should be expirable to balance the system, however, some offences should remain permanent as they are unacceptable. Innocent mistakes may be pardoned with a expirable warning, but some things, such as disrespecting another user which was done out of your own immoral choice, should not ever be pardoned.

Although, one could say simplest solution to this problem is to not break the rules.
All I want is some unnecessary points removed from when I was a month old on this forum. Stuff like "Low quality posting" and "Abusing the reaction system" should be temporary.
I'm sure we can all agree that we have unwarranted warning points (in our opinions) that we received a long time ago

You make an okay point, though I disagree that we all have unwarranted warning points.

It's pretty much like wanting to get your "criminal record" reset, far fetched but that's how it is. Without a constant reminder to not do something, it will only further incline you to do it again when the chance presents itself because you'd know that it would eventually expire and that it won't matter anymore.

You shouldn't worry about getting banned or reaching some threshold if you know that you're not going to break rules, having your warning points removed wouldn't do anything but give you that free space and carelessness to do it all again. Your warning points are only visible to you, it doesn't leave some sort of "stigma" on your account that's visible to others, so your suggestion from the start is rather plain bullshit that would only cause issues.

EDIT: As for the second chances you're talking about, everyone gets way more than two ''chances" because you don't get banned right off the bat if you don't reach x threshold which honestly is hard to reach if you just don't do stupid shit on here. The threshold is there for a reason and so are the warnings that don't expire. Be a good member without breaking rules and you shouldn't have the slightest worry about getting banned, that's the actual story whether you like it or not.

We don't need duplicate threads for this suggestion. There's a reason why they have an addon installed that shows you "Threads similar to this" before posting. Clearly you ignored it.

The other thread (last time I checked) had well over 80 agrees, multiple staff replies, etc. I see no reason for more than 1. I would agree to this suggestion but... I guess I already have.

you haven't experienced it cause you're not borderline banned like literally every other person who signed up ages ago

I joined this site 2 years before you did and I have not received a single warning point. It really is not that hard to follow the rules and be mindful of what you say and the consequences it may or may not have.

Nevertheless, I do think warnings for moderate offenses, aside from things like harassment, minor TOS violations, rep abuse, and some of the marketplace rules, etc., should expire after 2-3 years. I can understand the point of a permanent warning, but what is the point in leaving 1 warning point on someone's account for 3+ years? (ex. "6.3 Miscategorized Resource"). I fail to see how miscategorizing a resource warrants a permanent 1 warning point yet something like "1.20 Abusing Staff Members" is 2 points and expires after 6 months?

Moreover, just to reiterate, I do agree there should be permanent offenses and quite honestly if all warnings were permanent, I would support the change as, well, I read and follow the rules. I simply do not believe all of the current permanent/non-permanent offenses are categorized properly nor do I think all offenses, with exception to the more major offenses, need to be fully permanent, a couple of years should suffice for things like spam; theoretically, you could even be permitted to (re)appeal a warning after 2 years, maybe not to dispute guilt, but instead to show maturity. That is a system we used at Badlion, you may appeal a permanent ban and as long as you showed you have matured and accepted responsibility for your actions, your punishment time was reduced to 6 months (or you were fully pardoned, depending on the time you already spent banned).

But again, these are just my thoughts.

2-3 years
jesus
more like 6 or so months, doesnt take 2-3 years to learn a lesson on a minecraft forums, this is a forums, not a game that involved cheating n such. dont you think saying a competitors name that literally staff never enforce when people say it once and then getting permanently 35 warning points and never being able to come back from that is a little bit over the top?[DOUBLEPOST=1554093791][/DOUBLEPOST]

It’s really not that hard to use this site and not break the rules. If you’re pissed at Mick or at the site because you’ve racked up enough warning points to get banned then that’s your own fault.

I’m allowed to have an opinion on here just like you are. If you can’t handle that then sorry about your bad luck pal!
I just don't want to get alerts from you.
