Okay, so this has probably been brought up before. I think we should try and revive the mc-market community server.

I personally enjoyed the hell out of it and made some good memories on it. I would love for the server to be back up and running. It is the one server I could relax and hang out on.

One point that has been brought up is that SMP is pretty dull and any other gamemode could cause drama. For this, I suggest we make it Skyblock. Habin_Is_Cool Dahyun Fire

As Justis said:
Didn't you read the announcement?
There's not nearly enough stable community interest to continuously run the MC-Market server.
It's been closed
If the problem is hosting, then I am sure on a company on here would love to sponsor it. They could take all credit for being the company that hosts the mc-market server.
Even if not, I would be willing to pay for the dedi or whatever is needed for it.

If the problem is work on it, why not come up with staff to work on it. Again, I am sure people on here would love to help. I would volunteer my time. I could even help make the application form and sort through them.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

It'd be better to just make it a public server. Realistically speaking, not many users on the forum even play MC, even less play SMP.

Unless there are incentives for playing on the server, I doubt there's going to be a chance for it to be revived. Even when it made it so all you had to do is link an account to play it only got popular for a while. Same thing would happen.

Honestly the MCM server will either be dull and few will play. If its a gamemode like SMP or be fun but cause alot of drama (KitPvP Factions etc). If someone raids them then they will take it out on that person on the forums too, in ways like negitive comments or thread trashing. Therefore it can only really be SMP or maybe Skyblock.

The server has always been dull, and being here for just over a year now - while not commenting much - has shown that nothing has changed, and chances are, nothing will. There were ever barely more than 5 players on at peak, and no matter what gamemode you decide, there will always be a better server of that gamemode to play on. SMP didn't work as we saw, and there are way too many KitPVP/Factions servers about. Furthermore, any other gamemode would be unsustainable due to the evident lack of players. Opening up the server as a public might sound like a decent idea, but then you would have to moderate the affiliation towards the website. You can't have people getting ranks on there, and then they somehow become more important on here. It just doesn't work.

I know for sure that finances aren't a problem to start up, however it's the return and efficiency of the server. What's the point of paying for all the equipment and the time of plugins, and maps and set up - when only few people play on it (if lucky)

Unless someone like Mick is willing to add the extra hassle to his workload then well - it just won't happen.

(Before someone says "Mick won't have any hassle! Someone else can do it!". No - nobody else can as it would have an official link to the website. If anything goes wrong - Mick would be at fault.)

Sorry for the essay I'm bored.

Ajdin What is your reason for disagreement?
I think it has been tried to many times. I've tried it all. Mick doesn't have time to run the server as MC-Market is taking up the majority of his time.

Assigning someone else to do it just a mess and has been done before.

I think we all know that the majority of the MCM userbase doesn't even play Minecraft.

As others have said there is no way we could make a server for MC-Market that'd actually be used after the first month, even if we tried something other than SMP.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
