Introduction
I know from experience how inferior it can be in some moments when your own staff team simply fails, for example because players are not dealt with appropriately. But even in the application process, it is always very difficult to make the right decisions. So what if there were a certificate system for staff members, with which they could prove their experience, professionalism and knowledge, so that (application) processes could be made more comfortable for both the applicant and the manager?

(I'm aware that this idea has been raised by a few people but never really caught on)

Main part
The certification would then probably run through a website. There you can take an online test to get the certificate. There would then probably be different online tests with associated certificates (moderator, developer, manager, ...). Alternatively, the online test could also be run via a course platform.
There should then also be a category on the website where the teaching content is conveyed (e.g. in the form of videos). In addition, there should be a portal where you can see all registered staff members and what certifications they have. You could also wrap this in an API.

Implementation
Since I myself have some experience in the field of development (Certificates), I could also implement certain parts myself, but a team of people would probably be significantly more here appropriate. I have already mentioned a few parts of the implementation (online courses via a course platform, instruction videos on the website and a portal to look up the certifications). In addition, an API would also be very helpful, since other people could then embed it into their programs (maybe even MC-Market?).

Financing
This part will probably prove to be the most difficult. I could check with my sponsor Instinctive Development/Network but they are a local startup and are more into their entrepreneurship right now. Also, I already get a few things sponsored by them, so it's doubtful they'll sponsor me any more. My budget is around $$$ and I'm sure I'll find a 16gb server somewhere. But you could also team up with already established servers. Another option would be to make some of the certificates paid.

What do you think of this (already known) idea?

Sounds like a great idea. It's definitely out of the box, and, as with most certificates if you get it to catch on your certificate will become the next important thing to get staff. I think it's a wonderful idea, it'll just be difficult to advertise it. Good luck with getting funding!

I think overall it could be a good idea. Your main issue assuming it's developed is making it accredited.

Here are some updates about the current situation that I would like to share.

1. I've been talking to my sponsor for a while now and it seems I'm not getting very much from them. What they can only secure for me right now is a little over $100, an 8gb ram VPS (I can provide a 16gb ram VPS myself though) and a domain.

2. When it comes to advertising the certificates, I've made good progress with a relatively good system:
  • The good thing is that the more people use the certificates, the better known they become.
  • In addition, we will then probably work very closely with Minecraft servers, so that you also get a level of awareness about it.
  • We will then also become active via the social channels and, for example, use Youtubers who are themselves in a staff team for advertising.
  • If you bring the project to the level of Mcmarket, so that you have, for example, a new category in the profiles called "Staff Certificates", the project would of course also automatically increase in size.

3. How should one structure or generate revenue?
Of course you could offer a few certificates for a fee, but I would rather just make the project available for free

I'm creating a thread for the idea right now and will also create a discord server so we can put together a team that's interested.

(From the point of view of creating the website and the courses, things are looking very good right now, as I have already been able to find some developers who are interested. But later on, people who have the necessary knowledge for the online courses will be needed above all.)
