So, we've all been there.
Getting warned for leaving a vouch on a thread.

It is NOT a useless thing, if anything it is useful.

It lets people know:
They had a deal together.
Their service is good.

It also encourages someone to deal with the seller.

The thread OP doesn't mind it, in fact they like it as it is a positive comment on their thread.

I think people saying something like "Vouch" should be allowed, as long as they specify why they are vouching.

Something like this should be allowed:
Vouch, bought {item} from them.
It is not "stating the obvious", it could be something like a discord bot thread and you could say:
"Vouch, bought a ticketing system bot from them."

I don't see why it should not be allowed, not even a generic vouch response, as it just helps the thread OP and it is their thread and they don't take it as trashing or anything.

How is it unnecessary bumping only when it is short, even if it is a long vouch, it can still be considered unnecessary.

People don't want to check everyone's rep all the time, and even a simple comment on the thread saying: "vouch", shows that they had a successful deal and all went well.

Soon enough, on the feedback section, someone will say: "Looks nice", and receive warning points...

LMFAO xD (This might be considered 1.8 so the following sentence is some non-sense something)

Oh damn I just realized something really funny. If you post "Agree: Yep I agree with this because, x, y, and z" you can receive warning point(s) for 1.8.

I've reported 56 posts for 1.8 just to try to show the staff team how bullshit the rule is. Turns out I was abusing the report system even though the reports were valid

I remember having a very long discussion internally within the staff team about this rule and how we could reword the rule to clarify the way that we enforce vouches on users threads. Since the time this suggestion was made we have now changed rule 1.8 to say:

1.8 Do not post content which is extremely low in quality, irrelevant, redundant, unnecessary, or meaningless. (e.g: “Looks nice, GLWS”, “Vouch”)
1.8.1 Do not post content to which a reaction could have been substitute, or which was already made apparent.
1.8.2 Do not post content whose only purpose is to bump a thread.
1.8.3 Do not vouch on a product/service thread without clarifying that you have purchased that product/service. User vouches should be done via the reputation system.

The main point we were discussing was whether saying "Vouch, bought an {item}" is meaningful and high-quality enough to justify being posted on a thread. In my opinion it is, and so we removed that particular phrase from being an example of what breaks rule 1.8.

Saying just "Vouch" or "vouch or Mick" on a thread where I'm offering design is still against our rules, but saying "Vouch, bought a thread design from Mick" is meaningful enough to not result in a 1.8 warning. Ideally, we would like for vouches to be more constructive and useful, but that is the bare minimum of what we will allow going forward.

I'll move this to accepted now as this thread was what lead to our change in policy and clarity regarding this situation. Thank you to everyone for your input and feedback on this and hopefully we can all agree that this was a fair way to enforce this going forward. Seeing 20 replies to a thread selling an account with "vouch" is meaningless and unnecessary and should be put in our reputation system with more information about why instead.
