Hello Mc-Market,

Since a few months I moved in with my dad he started abusing me physically. Don't worry, no rape or something like that. But whenever I'm doing something that he doesn't like he just throws me in the air and starts punching me in my stomach etc. Is there anyone here that has some advice for me? I'm really scared to go to the police since I can't really leave the house or he'll notice it. I'm in need of some help, please. I am also currently 16 years old.

Thanks in advance,

~ Mat

Ok, so I'd usually say some shit, but this fr. Here are some options.

1. When you go to school, notify a teacher or principal about it.
2. Call one of your friend's parents and let them know (trust me on that).
3. Just sneak out the house. Even if your dad does notice, what do you have to loose? You're going to the police to complain about your abusive dad, once you do complain, he won't be able to hurt you.

I know it's going to sound pretty bad, but...

Audio record that shit, like have your phone audio recording. You don't want to go to the police, notify them, then have no form of proof and then your dad to do anything more to you. When you go to school on your way there/home, go to the police office instead and show them your audio tape just to prove abuse is happening.

Sorry that it's happening to you though. I hope it gets settled soon.

I tried the 2 first options already but since the teachers here kind of suck they don't pay attention and just leave it alone and say that it'll be okay. The principal promised me she would take actions but never got any response in 2 months.
owow this is all sorts of messed up

That's the problem about the Belgian law, you're not able to have video nor audio recording as proof. You can only have text (emails, texts, etc.)

That's pretty stupid, but shit.. Sorry man, I don't really know what other advice to give other than ditch school or go to the police station before or after, just so you dad doesn't suspect of anything.

HHahahahhahaha go to a joke thread this is an actual serious thread.

Sorry about him, I would suggest calling Call: +31 20 528 9625 I believe this is Belgiums national hotline, I suggest this as you don't want to call the police. However, speaking to the police is by far the best option, reporting your dad would be hard as hes family, but think about it in reality, you wouldn't do the same to him, so the police is the way better option.

Sorry if that doesn't make sense I normally don't write on my phone this was a bit important thoug.
Alright, thank you.
