I'm currently interested in creating a Discord Bot Solution to integrate with WHMCS. While I'm still visualizing and documenting how I might want to do this, executing it would require extensive testing with the WHMCS API and I'm not able to or willing to pay for a license solely for this purpose. I'm not set in stone on creating this bot, and I'll need to do some more learning around the WHMCS API before beginning anything, but:

What I'm looking for:
- Obviously uses WHMCS and has a presence on discord for support or sales
- Willing to provide an account with API credentials for development purposes (will not modify any running services or customers, purely for testing and feature development)
- Willingness to make suggestions on improvements if I decide to go through with.

What you'll get:
- The bot/solution for life, even once it's theoretically paid for everyone else
- Access to new features/updates before anyone else gets them, even after theoretical release

If you're interested, reply to this thread or add me on discord: BluLightShow#0001

Hey!

I've been thinking the same for a long time, and already have a functioning verify bot. Which utilises the WHMCS API to send a verify code.

BUT the dev who made it for me went off the radar. Maybe you wanna join in to improve it even further? I'm not the best at programming, but will maintain the infrastructure :)

Hey, this sounds like a very interesting idea! I’d be fine to provide you with a VPS to develop it on and our WHMCS development license.

I’ve added you on discord, mine is Zerxal#7199

this is a challenging thing due to security. I don’t give out api keys period, only my staff and I have access to any client data. I certainly wouldn’t trust a non-selfhosted bot have access to my client data.

I guarantee that its very difficult to make a long term profit with a premade discord bot. There will be those who will replicate what you've done through many means and price their competitor lower than yours.

Discord Bot Solution to integrate with WHMCS
I had the idea/document fleshed out to use WHMCS for ticket support staff to access and use to assist customers. A developer brought up that instead of WHMCS, Ptero API was much easier and has already been done by a few hosts. WHMCS only handles billing, and if you're going to make a billing payment system, you might as well ditch WHMCS and make your own PayPal bot which many exist.

If you've got other ideas than what I've thought of here, then good luck to you finding someone to work with this on :)

FYI WHMCS offers free development licenses for any customer who has an active, valid WHMCS license. You'll just need to make a support ticket on their site and ask for one.

No one should be giving out production credentials.
