Hi MC-Market,

I've been on this market almost since it began back in 2014 and this entire site has changed. It's no longer an opportunity to find quality work as the quality services are hidden inbetween these "highly reputable" community members. I used to be a really active user as I could find people that wont scam me out of every flipping dollar I own, now people are worried to use their site as what would be a "reputable" user is now just everyone that begs their staff on their server, every time they talk in discord/skype. It's worthless. Now let me get a couple examples,

^ How is that even reputation, that's just telling people the kind of person he is, it is completely irrelevant to whether he can provide a good service. Secondly, anyone that has more than 50 positive reputations is clearly begging that even dollar that leaves their paypal or enters, they must be given a reputation, just as a word of warning, reputation points aren't candies in a toffee box, you have to at least do something for them.

I had a small opportunity to discuss with Mick what his opinions were of the current system and here is the chat log. He understands that it needs changing.

My overall judgement is.

- Scrap it

or

- Enforce new guidelines & make it a rule not to beg for vouches/reputations.

Cheers.

(I'm aware its already been posted before, don't remind me, its important since Mick has agreed that the system is poor too).

Any suggestions related to modifications to the reaction/rating system will be declined. This includes removal of the entire rating system, additional ratings, changing ratings to neutral, etc.

Don't bother.

I have 54 positive rep. All of this rep is from selling Semi-OG accounts, OG accounts, or AGC for the most part. I have even received some random positive rep before and asked the person who randomly repped me to remove it. Therefore, it is unfair for you to say that individuals who have 50+ rep just beg for rep. Some people just do a LOT of transactions on here.

I think the point is that there is a lot of rep begging going on, and since people are pretty much allowed to rep on anything (opinion of the person, for example,) then people get away with it.

That's where you do a reputation evaluation on everyone you deal with to see how much of their reputation is valid enough to show if they're worth doing business with. It's not difficult, you can even skim through it.

Maybe it isn't too difficult, but the entire reputation system was put in place so that we could easily evaluate a user on their likely-hood to scam, right? Just because it's "not difficult" doesn't mean it has should be there.

also im lovin the pfp ;3

Agree with enforcing a rule where the user must have a legit reason for repping another user.
Not just them being nice.

As for begging for vouxhes/rep there is a rule Kappa
And it is enforced.

Well this is where the system needs changing, not a total deletion. I liked Doge's idea of having business reputation and personal reputation, which separates the two while making both still relevant.

And that's what I was suggesting, not total deletion. I'm also a fan of Doge's idea.

I know i'm not known by the majority here, but it can be annoying where people do not wish to deal with me or even consider my offer due to my low reputation here. I have a decent reputation on SpigotMC however because of the 'rep' here, they still decide to close my offer.
Same here, but my only issue could be salty kids who give a bad rep for the sake of it. Guess its also sometimes a spigot thing as well with the optimistic ratings.

I like the idea of having to have it approved, however the response times are ridiculously slow anyways Netflix still isn't banned for blatantly attempting to scam me, thebaum64 wouldn't do anything about it when I asked him on sb and essentially told me to go away, even after making 2 or 3 support requests.

So there's an example of the quality staffing going on around here.

As per usual there isn't a way to clarify between the good or bad people on this site, because 95% of them are psychopathic and will swindle you for the pettiest amount of money, sadly the size of the site just attracts more of these people.

Don't really think there's a solution to the whole reputation thing, people will do the vouch for vouch thing regardless, you've just got to build a portfolio up and play the game.

EDIT: Netflix was banned, but not for attempting to scam me, (Which I made a huge thread on) but for asking a chat mod to ban him, claiming he had scammed $400, the MCM staff team really are the height of quality.

I don't think the staff quality here is the problem, like SpywareYT said, is how many of them are.
