I don't know about others getting flagged for 'unusual network behavior' but I have to verify that I'm a human majority of the time accessing the site. Not sure if it's because I check stupidly frequently and have connected to the site using several ips since I'm in New York and there's wifi everywhere but I noticed this morning that HCapton is being used now and it gave me the world's hardest time picking pictures of a boat, birds, then umbrellas and wasted 10m of my life clicking pictures. Please revert back to the legacy check for being human or clear my account of being flagged for 'unusual network activity.' I, nor anyone else, should have a difficult time accessing the site.

Is that a sick joke or?
I have communicated your concern with hCaptcha and they have reportedly pulled all horse and bear images for inspection.

A few weeks ago I noticed reCaptchas on the Cloudflare page, not sure if MCM has increased the security level on Cloudflare or if it's just increased traffic due to everyone being home.
Now we've got hCaptcha. Works on my desktop (but still annoying) does not work at all on my phone. It loads, but is an endless loop of selecting boats/cars/horses.
Mick needs to rename the website to https://BoatHorseCar-Identifier.org/ just so people aren't confused about the purpose of this site.
I had to verify that I am a human 100 times, for a moment I thought I wasn't a human :unsure::cry:
We suggest using the Privacy Pass extension for Chrome and Firefox or use hCaptcha's accessibility feature.

privacy-oriented,
I'm not an expert or anything, but I don't think this is true.

“privacy” oh it’s more secure and private That may be true compared to like google recaptcha. But MCM uses google analytics anyways no? But let’s take a deeper look

hCaptcha’s “motto” is “A new way to monetize site traffic” that sounds bad enough as is “hCaptcha is a drop-in replacement for reCAPTCHA that earns websites money and helps companies get their data labeled”

Basically; they say that they take better data and label it better. It’s also run on crypto, paying users a set of “human tokens” that it pays them to get the individual users data labeled Sounds like BAT

Privacy Policy- Based in the US

  • THIS IS WHAT IS GATHERED THROUGH CAPTCHA/ACCOUNT TO CLAIM TOKENS Name, email, browser, ISP, platform, device type, OS, date/time Some information is also collected on behalf by third parties we engage for that purpose, using tracking technologies
What they use data on you for- Provides market for labeled data.
Allows it for review for machine learning and business owners to improve the site and service
To do business analyses
To increase their security, with your IP and other data
For any business purpose that they want. As long as it’s anonymized

How they share it-
With our customers and others interesting in buying your data
With vendors that provide data storage and hosting
With vendors that help collect and use analytical information
Any legitimate business purpose as long as your anonymizes your data
They use google analytics
They do not guarantee the security of your data
I can’t see how this is a private alternative to reCAPTCHA lol

That is likely because your IP address is dynamic. Every time it changes, it invalidates your clearance. Some changes next week will hopefully fix this.[DOUBLEPOST=1585247095][/DOUBLEPOST]
That occurs during high loads to prevent our platform from being overloaded even more in the event bots get in. This should only occur if you haven't logged in recently, however having your cookies cleared can cause this.
Could we make it so if MCM has logged the same couple of IP's (ie: school, home, data, etc) so the typical one's that you use, does not repeat and ask for it? Or like every month it checks again?

With the endpoints available to us, it is currently quite cumbersome to do so and if we did, removal is much slower in the case one of those IPs were to abuse whitelisting. As of right now, we're looking into other ways to associate logged-in members with Cloudflare, however, as they do not allow calculations or complicated algorithms other than with their CF Workers platform (which when stacked up is quite expensive...), it will most likely be partially be based on data stored in cookies.

Typically you will only experience this once every few months assuming you do not use a browser that clears cookies and you do not switch internet providers too much.

This is caused by high server loads.

If you want to kill your site, continue to use this pitiful verification system. It takes me at least 5 minutes to log in considering I get everything correct, but generally glitches out and I end up re-doing it multiple times, eventually stopping and neglecting logging in anymore afterward. I got lucky recently with being able to login, and would definitely recommend removing this specific verification integration from your site. Your old verification system was still secure and 10x less a pain in the ass. I am telling you, you are going to kill your site and lose loads of people if you continue to use this mess of a system. Please, for the love of God remove it!

(With all due respect, we don’t need to know the specifics on why it is such a horrible system, we would all like for it to be removed is all so we don’t have to waste our time dealing with or discussing this subject of matter any further. To put it simply, please just revert back to your old Captcha System!)

Please read previous posts. At this time, we are not able to change the captcha system as it is provided by Cloudflare.

We are however working to reduce how often members get the captcha.

For Future CommentersPlease review the previous posts on this thread by staff members. At this time, as the captcha is served by Cloudflare, we are unable to change back to reCaptcha. We ask that the community instead comment on specific alternative solutions that are not related to captchas. Do not repeat previously stated comments and if such is to occur, this thread may simply be locked as there have been no usable suggestions thus far.

If you receive an innapropriate captcha image, please private message me it or e-mail it to [email protected] .

Jayson, all I gotta say is . Not cool man.
In light of community demand, we have experimentally reintroduced the five second JavaScript challenge in place of the captcha. However, as it has historically proven itself ineffective, the captcha will as normal kick back in when needed automatically.

Advantages to Dynamic Captchaing:
  • You (might) get less captchas.
Downsides to Dynamic Captchaing:
  • You can be captchaed at any time.
  • Potential for broken images/CSS.
Advantages of Constant Captcha:
  • Only broken images/CSS when the server is seriously overloaded.
  • You won't be hit with a captcha right after you click the save/post button.
Downsides to Constant Captcha:
  • You'll always get a captcha when logging in.
Once more, you can always take advantage of Privacy Pass and hCaptcha's accessibility system to bypass captchas completely.

Unfortunately, we need a verification solution as we currently do not have the resource capacity to handle all of the bot traffic. If we didn't the site would just constantly be offline.

Actually had one opening this post, the irony.
But I agree. It’s pops up so frequently I am actually doubting if I’m a human or not.

Once again staff doesn't listen to the community. Just another way to get some extra revenue
Please read previous messages by staff on this thread. If anything, the captcha is reducing our revenues due to inaccessibility. We do not have control over which captcha is provided, only when a captcha is provided. Please view Cloudflare's blog post on this topic. At this time, due to a lack of capacity, we are unable to operate without some sort of verification system to stop bots. Per my current information, Cloudflare will not be providing any revenues generated through the captcha to site owners and its main motive for switching is for increased user privacy per its blog post.

anyone else getting stuck on the giraffe pics?
Please take advantage of Privacy Pass or hCaptcha's accessibility system if you are having issues solving captchas.

If you'd like to help improve our platform, please check facts prior to posting as it'll reduce the time we spend on correcting the community's views. If community members have specific ideas on blocking bad bots without decreasing accessibility as much, we're open to suggestions. However, complaints such as those provided on this thread will not prompt change as it is out of our control. Instead, direct comments on captcha usage to the Cloudflare community.
