I don't know about others getting flagged for 'unusual network behavior' but I have to verify that I'm a human majority of the time accessing the site. Not sure if it's because I check stupidly frequently and have connected to the site using several ips since I'm in New York and there's wifi everywhere but I noticed this morning that HCapton is being used now and it gave me the world's hardest time picking pictures of a boat, birds, then umbrellas and wasted 10m of my life clicking pictures. Please revert back to the legacy check for being human or clear my account of being flagged for 'unusual network activity.' I, nor anyone else, should have a difficult time accessing the site.

Can't believe no action has been taken when this has nearly 200 reactions, hCaptcha makes me want to leave the forums.
Your saying this as if its life threatening. Think about this.

a Website running with 100,000 users constantly and then you have script kiddies DDOSing and then you have Bots trying to flood bandwidth. They first want to provide a site that is secure and available 24/7

Plus this isn't something MCM Developers can fix. This is a cloudflare issue that they don't have control over.
Cloudflare now days are trying to control everything. Just like Apple and most companies are doing in there markets. The only way for them to stop this is to have a look at other systems what may be bad or not even work. Why change something when it works the way it does.
I genuinely hate using the Catchpa to the point where i'll just ignore the website until I decide to try again.
I mean really what are our expectations from an owner who logs into the site twice a month and a 16 year old sys admin managing a site with 200k+ users and 1500+ daily posts?
It's becoming worse, even privacy pass doesn't let me bypass it anymore
I hope we can come to a conclusion about this sooner than later. Yes, its annoying that I have to verify and it takes a little longer that's fine but on top of that I have to do it each time I access this site making it so tedious.
We are now trying a new bot blocking algorithm. As the previous one resulted in pile-ups of blocked users, this one does implement a monthly captcha, unfortunately, however, I am making modifications to it so that it automatically renews seamlessly.

For more information on why Cloudflare switched to hCaptcha, visit their blog post Moving from reCAPTCHA to hCaptcha.

If you're using Privacy Pass, make sure you have some passes remaining. If not, click on the icon and click on Get More Passes.

For mobile users which cannot use Privacy Pass, you may use hCaptcha's accessibility feature to bypass the captcha if you receive one at https://www.hcaptcha.com/accessibility

Thank you for explaining this a little further. I'm glad you guys are making efforts to provide a change for this.

After a bit of tweaking, some users may of experienced captchas while they were not supposed to. The latest version was pushed at around 16:40 EDT. If you experience more than one captcha past this and your IP is not overly dynamic, you have not traveled internationally, and you have not experienced a browser change (or update), please privately message me so I can look into it.

I am planning on finalizing a cleaned-up version tomorrow at around 14:00 EDT.

Rhos:
You may be rotating between IPv6 and IPv4. If you have gotten a captcha for both of them, you should be fine from there on, however, if not, please record the Ray ID at the bottom of the captcha page and send it to me to investigate. I could not find a record of you receiving a captcha in the last 24 hours unless it was on a mobile network or you did not successfully complete the captcha and enter the site.

Masons Monarch:
Our current system doesn't treat VPNs nicely, unfortunately. I intend on implementing a more passive challenge to address folks like you. This applies especially for those who use VPNs with IPs going across state lines.

I get the same issue as well, maybe they find a work around this.
notdoc:
Um...to say the least, you just joined. You have to do the captcha at least once to get anything set for you.

I've done it I'm pretty sure and I had the same issue all the people are above may be a one time for me but thought I'd mention it in this since I saw this post.

I'm using the OperaGX browser and least to say, I hate that I need to fill in the verification every time, I did some looking up, and once I changed my DNS to Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 I didn't have to enter it since then, this might be a fix for some of the users.
Changing your DNS servers does not change if you receive captchas or not. It is more than likely a coincidence as we recently changed the algorithm.

Yea, I've been on 1dot for a WHILE. Still couldn't access the website for a fucking while.

Put your email in (be prepared to receive junk), click their link and that'll log you in. Hit the "set cookie" button, and you're off to the races.

Admit it we all know the only reason you are doing the Hcaptcha for the money, every 1000 clicks is USD you are already making enough money from ads and whatnot. It is annoying and useless, it really shows that you care about money more than the community.

For future commenters, please read replies prior to posting. Thanks.

I will be posting a thread in the general discussion in a few days with a summarized version of this thread, however, continuing to spread information without verifying is worrying.

Though to directly counter your point, I offer you this: If everybody hates hCaptcha and our site activity decreases due to it (which it has), hCaptcha is not exactly bringing in more revenue. That's not even considering Cloudflare actually pays hCaptcha to help keep it stable. We had to enable a bot protection system of some sort to ensure there is a site to visit at all.

Past this point, I will not be addressing any replies to points already made. Future commenters should work to verify their information prior to posting and read previous comments by both the community and staff members.

Due to a recent surge in bots at about 20k - 30k, we have temporarily re-enabled the captcha for all visitors.
