Selling stolen builds should equal a ban.

For some reason, which I have absolutely no clue as to why, when people steal minecraft builds from around the web, and try to sell them here, it only results in 20 warning points when they are caught.

After seeing 68734 trying to do this very thing, and getting caught, I was absolutely baffled by the punishment he received. I was expecting him to be banned, as that is what he deserves, however, all he received was 20 warning points.

Stealing builds and then trying to sell them is just as bad as scamming, so why is the punishment only a fraction of what the punishment is for scamming?

Along with all of this, 68734 should be perm banned.

Disagree, maybe the person did not know the build was stolen? Why not give the user selling it warning points and open a scam report? Then you at least have a chance of getting your money back...

Obviously that should be taken into consideration, but I think it was kind of implied. The person would only be banned if they knew what they were was that.

They probably did, or they should be only selling builds they own or know they have rights to. If they legitimately didn't know someone will probably say something on their thread before they sell it.

I would say a permanent ban on this as it is attempted scam or actual scam. But I would almost agree with other people saying like 20 warning points, then a ban.

So did you consider that someone may be reselling a build they bought from someone else, but that other person stole it or downloaded it? That's an option, and happens quite a lot.
This is why I'm so hesitant about this suggestion.

Stolen build should be if I world downloaded the build or went on leakf***ums and downloaded a leaked schematic or world, and that should be a perm ban. But if I bought and resold it, should be a warning and if they do it again a ban (that is without permission).

If there is sufficient evidence to show that it was sold by another user to them (via mc-market) then I'd say they should receive a lower punishment w/ a refund to the purchaser instead of receiving the ban as it's apparently a situation that does happen somewhat frequently however it'd probably be better in the long run to have the harsher punishment in place to deter it from happening with those that wish to stay around or removing those that are trying to make a quick sale from work that isn't their own rather then allowing them to potentially repeat their actions or do worse.

I still think this should be added.. For example, today a kid attempted to sell a program of mine, claiming he had my permission to sell it (he did not.). He only received a WARNING for this..

Great idea tbh. I feel like it should go for all stolen things (think that was said above?) Art, builds, plugins, accounts. +1
