The real issue is lying. I've seen so many service teams lie about their capabilities just for clients.[DOUBLEPOST=1559666800][/DOUBLEPOST]People pretend to own actual companies all the time outside of service teams. I wouldn't target them specifically for this. Plus, "stealing" clients over could just be business. People choose what best suits them and that sometimes means making changes in what they use.
You are the exception, your team is decent. Part of the reason people keep buying from them is the price, most of them are much cheaper than the higher quality freelancers.Very well.
Why would a business that, according to this thread, benefits no one, lies, claims to be something they aren't, and waste time for everyone involved stay in business for (in my case) years now? Why would people continue to buy from them, and leave five star reviews of their services, if they are doing nothing right? Why would all these people who say service teams are the worst continue to support them? One can only wonder...
Also, if a free market means anything, it's that freelancers aren't being "robbed" of clients, they are being out-competed.
I agree 100%, with the last statement you said, I have personally owned a service-team in the past, and have been known to only provide quality over quantity, its what made my team get so much fame and popularity, you need to have good contacts not bad ones, I personally made sure of that, rather than spreading it around. You contradict yourself by saying service teams provide all of these extra perks such as advertising and graphics for free because you also mention that the management does take a percentage of the commission.
Sure there are a handful of service teams that are actually good because they either have a large client base or just downright know how to run a proper team. But just like other fads (such as hosting companies), service teams are littered with children who have nothing better to do than start up their "professional" service team. This way they can call themselves a CEO and net a profit of $1.62 over a course of 2.5 days and sell off their fortune 500 for 5 bucks when school starts Monday.
By saying this you are implying that service teams create freelancers. The number of freelancers available does not correlate to the number of service teams that exist. Freelancers are available regardless if service teams exist or not.
There are negative aspects in joining a service team as a freelancer as well. For example, a client requires a web design, plugin developed, thread design, and a trailer. The client goes to service team X for his needs. The client has a bad experience from the web designer so he does not do business with three other freelancers in that service team. Therefore, the bad experience is representative of all freelancers in service team X.
In conclusion, the problem is not simply too many service teams, but moreso too many low quality service teams. It becomes harder for quality service teams to stand out among the hundreds that possibly exist already.
But but RiftCoin was supposed to last foreverWell at least SOMETHING ended
