Hi everyone!
Today I am very eager to release staff applications and to announce some staff changes.

Staff Applications
For the first time since MC-Market was founded over four years ago we are releasing staff applications. Since the beginning, the size of the staff team has stayed roughly the same but due to the continual growth and success over the past few years, our current staff team are no longer able to keep up with the huge amount of support requests and reports made against users. We hope to fix this problem by growing the staff team in the future to ensure we are not backed up again in the future.

Applications are only open for the next two weeks to users who meet certain requirements which are going to remain undisclosed. If you do meet the requirements to apply you will see a tab in the navigation bar which links to the application. If you meet the requirements but don’t want to apply then you can use the dropdown on the tab and click “Decline” to make the invitation no longer appear on the navigation bar.

Once applications close they will be reviewed by the current team for a decision to be made. Unfortunately, due to time restraints, we will not be able to reach out to everyone who submits an application. Even if your application is denied we hope to be able to see you contribute to a positive and constructive atmosphere within our community in other ways.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time of delayed response from our team. We look forward to reading all applications and improving the quality of service we provide from now into the future.

Staffing Changes
Along with releasing the applications, there have also been a few changes to the current team. Although they only joined the team as chat moderators a little over a month ago, Kram and Lotus have been promoted to moderators to assist with the moderation of the forum and reduce our backlog.

NixFifty has been demoted due to inactivity. We are currently searching for more XenForo developers so that we can update our existing custom addons and introduce more functionality to the site over the next few months which I am very excited for. We are not accepting applications for this role. Ivain has also decided to resign from his position due to other commitments.

Thank you,
Mick

I'm not a random tho, if being a donor is a requirement. that is simply not fair.

Wonder how many people will be submitting their IDs to apply

imma guess that you have to be a donor rank and have to be on this forum for a year. pretty dumb requirements but whatever

How so?

1. They are user upgrades and not donations. If you’re making money on this forum (which is what it’s for, in addition to buying things) and use it a decent amount, it makes no sense to not support it by getting an upgrade and giving yourself more features. I’d personally have instated the same requirement. I would want someone who cares about and uses the site enough to have gotten an upgrade, not some random joe schmoe who expects everything for free and refuses to give back even a little.

2. It makes sense to only want users registered for a year or more. Nobody wants new users who don’t know as much about the forum, don’t have as much experience and don’t have as much of a reputation. I’m not going to make the new guy the manager of my store, I’m going to pick the guy who has been there for a while and knows what he’s doing.

I personally have access to the application form, but a lot of users who were registered for a while and have many posts don’t. So clearly the requirements are higher than what you described and that’s a good thing.

This is literally Mick's only post in a whole month. You'd expect otherwise since he actually owns the forum. But oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Additionally, this update is fairly useless and small. My opinion is that staff applications are not necessary and will not introduce worthy people into team. At least they are trying different things because at this time, the staff is either chosen or handled poorly. Lion is a very good example.

I'm not gonna sit here and shit talk you because you did a very good job owning mcm and I respect you for it, but....

MCM has fallen into a ditch that's a little harder for Mick to get out of, admittedly, that may have been Mick's fault but It's nice to see that Mick is trying to make a change, I'm sure Mick is also well aware that this isn't the best choice they could have made, however, I do feel it's most efficient for what's needed right now, and that's a lot of staff who can prove themself worthy who can just burn through staff reports and take pressure of Justis and Sloth. The problem with picking staff like Lion, is that no one ever KNEW he could and would be a good staff member, it's something that was rushed into without any hard proof. At least with the applications Mick or Justis can take their time to read through and see who they think can benefit MCM, over just wildly picking out members because they seem nice enough. I'm sure the requirements to be accepted will be at a high level, as this we're not talking about a Minecraft server, it's something Mick knows that he WILL need to pick the right people or MCM is going to suffer more, so I just pray that Mick will make the best of this opportunity and make sure the choices are right.

The application form is a joke imo.
Legal name (so my full name, what the f.)
"highest completed level of education" why even...?
Willing to verify with my ID? Lol. Why add this if you add a "All my information is correct" check box.
Use my email for "only legal records". Whut? Then I assume you are signing an official contract or you have nothing to do.

"We will not tolerate abuse or misuse of this form. Do not waste our time with an apathetic or dishonest submission." Lmao.

I'm not going to jump aboard on a sinking ship others might though, so good luck![DOUBLEPOST=1536594569][/DOUBLEPOST]Anyone wondering where it should be if you have the requirements:
