Hi everyone!
Today I am very eager to release staff applications and to announce some staff changes.

Staff Applications
For the first time since MC-Market was founded over four years ago we are releasing staff applications. Since the beginning, the size of the staff team has stayed roughly the same but due to the continual growth and success over the past few years, our current staff team are no longer able to keep up with the huge amount of support requests and reports made against users. We hope to fix this problem by growing the staff team in the future to ensure we are not backed up again in the future.

Applications are only open for the next two weeks to users who meet certain requirements which are going to remain undisclosed. If you do meet the requirements to apply you will see a tab in the navigation bar which links to the application. If you meet the requirements but don’t want to apply then you can use the dropdown on the tab and click “Decline” to make the invitation no longer appear on the navigation bar.

Once applications close they will be reviewed by the current team for a decision to be made. Unfortunately, due to time restraints, we will not be able to reach out to everyone who submits an application. Even if your application is denied we hope to be able to see you contribute to a positive and constructive atmosphere within our community in other ways.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time of delayed response from our team. We look forward to reading all applications and improving the quality of service we provide from now into the future.

Staffing Changes
Along with releasing the applications, there have also been a few changes to the current team. Although they only joined the team as chat moderators a little over a month ago, Kram and Lotus have been promoted to moderators to assist with the moderation of the forum and reduce our backlog.

NixFifty has been demoted due to inactivity. We are currently searching for more XenForo developers so that we can update our existing custom addons and introduce more functionality to the site over the next few months which I am very excited for. We are not accepting applications for this role. Ivain has also decided to resign from his position due to other commitments.

Thank you,
Mick

You know what's amazing?

Everyone complains and bitches about how we need staff, and how staff don't respond to threads/reports/scam reports.
But as soon as they release the ample opportunity for people to apply so we could fix the problem, people still bitch..

There is no way to make people in this community happy...

Why are the requirements undisclosed? I've been on this marketplace since 2015 and I am unable to apply. I would like to know the reason for this.

"highest completed level of education"
If this is true then I wonder what is the difference do I have master degree in architecture, carpenters certificate or just high school diploma...it's not really MCM's business to ask for such info since being chat mod does not requires any specific level of any skill other than somewhat fluent English skills.

And a side note...Not that I would have particularly wanted but apparently I'm also not worthy applicant. Dedicated member since 2014, made hundreds of sales directly via resource section, no warnings...yeah, props for your application requirements.

20 permament warning points havent done anything useful here and i can apply

Im just glad to see Mick taking some initiative after MCM being neglected for months.

Even if I was applicable I wouldn't apply, but based on the posts in this thread it seems part of the requirements is having at least 30 positive reputation.

And sure, having a college degree may not be useful for a simple moderation position, but for the full name and ID - MCM is a registered business and for them to send/recieve payments they have to report information for government tax purposes (BeBosny can probably comment more specifically on this since I think he was a large part of meeting such regulations).

Well, you have to be registered since 2016, 30 Positive Reputation, and I'm not sure about the warning points.
Landon How many warning points do you have? Since you said you couldn't apply.

If I would have to guess I would say Justis was the one who made the most of work to create this as Mick has been extremely inactive and he tends to completely ignore the members.
I'm aware of the reasons behind other questions but the one about education seems completely useless.

30 rep, well I guess then I should have broken the rules and asked for reputation right and left, good to know.
But on serious note I feel like many worthy members got left behind the line ... and I have to admit I'm quite disappointed as I have dedicated a lot of time since 2014 and proven to be respectable member of the community...but in the eyes of Mc-Market I'm not worthy, well... don't even know what to say...

((In case anyone reads this out of context it's not about staff position but about the fact itself))

But for the sake of MCM and new MC artists and creators I hope they will find couple of decent and serious staff members.

Please have an age requirement for applicants because pretty much all of the staff on this platform are terrible at situations involving judgemental skill. I've seen it in multiple staff members. Staff should be at least 17 and that's pretty generous and for someone who has the mature mindset to correctly do their job and not just slack off a situation.

I assume its:
1 year registration
50 Rep
<20 Warnings

Mick: Lets add more staff members instead of fixing the reputation system or accepting suggestions! Because we already don't have enough staff members who are biased on which types of reputation stays or goes.

This is covered partially by the education requirement. If your highest obtained degree is a high school diploma (i.e. you've graduated high school), then that means you're probably serious enough for MCM to hire. If MCM staff is all 14 year olds, then the site is going to be mostly 14 year olds. By having a mature staff base, hopefully, the rest of the site will feel more mature.

Probably, and I would also like to think my incessant nagging also pushed this to happen https://i.imgur.com/ccggwe8.jpg
