Hi everyone!
Today I am very eager to release staff applications and to announce some staff changes.

Staff Applications
For the first time since MC-Market was founded over four years ago we are releasing staff applications. Since the beginning, the size of the staff team has stayed roughly the same but due to the continual growth and success over the past few years, our current staff team are no longer able to keep up with the huge amount of support requests and reports made against users. We hope to fix this problem by growing the staff team in the future to ensure we are not backed up again in the future.

Applications are only open for the next two weeks to users who meet certain requirements which are going to remain undisclosed. If you do meet the requirements to apply you will see a tab in the navigation bar which links to the application. If you meet the requirements but don’t want to apply then you can use the dropdown on the tab and click “Decline” to make the invitation no longer appear on the navigation bar.

Once applications close they will be reviewed by the current team for a decision to be made. Unfortunately, due to time restraints, we will not be able to reach out to everyone who submits an application. Even if your application is denied we hope to be able to see you contribute to a positive and constructive atmosphere within our community in other ways.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time of delayed response from our team. We look forward to reading all applications and improving the quality of service we provide from now into the future.

Staffing Changes
Along with releasing the applications, there have also been a few changes to the current team. Although they only joined the team as chat moderators a little over a month ago, Kram and Lotus have been promoted to moderators to assist with the moderation of the forum and reduce our backlog.

NixFifty has been demoted due to inactivity. We are currently searching for more XenForo developers so that we can update our existing custom addons and introduce more functionality to the site over the next few months which I am very excited for. We are not accepting applications for this role. Ivain has also decided to resign from his position due to other commitments.

Thank you,
Mick

I don't think this is true, I believe at one point they were open - closed shortly after because they're an awful way to find staff and shouldn't ever be done.

Desperate times, I guess.
When the bucket of community members you have to choose from is much larger and you go to prune the most competent brine off the top, you're certain to end up with a much better batch.
Whatever percentage this site has grown since you owned it will be close to the percentage in considerable applicants we will have gained since they were first attempted.

Not interested in arguing with you, so I'll just say why it's a bad idea for the community.

It's adding more work to your already ridiculous backlog, using admin time that could be spent handpicking people from the community, relying on what a user says in an application to be truthful, wasting time of 98% of applicants, gives false hope, etc.

This is pretty much how real life jobs work anyway. Backlog builds up, company puts out job ad, people apply, 98% get time wasted and false hope, 2% get through and can help clear up the backlog.

I see no issue.

I would've definitely made a serious apply if someone else was in charge.

Nope, that might be one requirement, but that's not the only one. I registered in Jan 2015. To be honest, I'm probably on some blacklist lol

You probably are. I have the Apply link

It's obvious one requirement is super duper pay account. No freeloaders get to work for free here.

Wonder how many people will be submitting their IDs to apply

How so?

1. They are user upgrades and not donations. If you’re making money on this forum (which is what it’s for, in addition to buying things) and use it a decent amount, it makes no sense to not support it by getting an upgrade and giving yourself more features. I’d personally have instated the same requirement. I would want someone who cares about and uses the site enough to have gotten an upgrade, not some random joe schmoe who expects everything for free and refuses to give back even a little.

2. It makes sense to only want users registered for a year or more. Nobody wants new users who don’t know as much about the forum, don’t have as much experience and don’t have as much of a reputation. I’m not going to make the new guy the manager of my store, I’m going to pick the guy who has been there for a while and knows what he’s doing.

I personally have access to the application form, but a lot of users who were registered for a while and have many posts don’t. So clearly the requirements are higher than what you described and that’s a good thing.
just realized you have 10k messages

Just read this whole thread, what a sad website, You shouldn't need a high education requirement to apply, all that should be needed is speaking english like MrAniman2 said, to further this why just disrespect anyone who's been on this website since before 2016, it's a joke, being on the website for that long shows loyalty and already a sense of trust, applications should be based of how trustworthy a member is and not their fucking legal name lmao, and these trustworthy requirements should be based off join date, reactions, reputation, messages, trophy points, etc, and even if they already are as i'm taking a shot in the dark due to the "undisclosed requirements" This is an online forum, full of regular people, if you guys can't choose the good people based off their accounts and website record and not their ID, Education and Legal name then your website is a joke. And before i'm called salty, etc, I just want to say i'm not a frequent to this website, I don't care about working on a website that sells minecraft accounts, and the whole thing seems dodgy, but the point is I have many friends from 2015 here and I also know based of replies to this thread that their are many eager people ready to apply and whom are pissed off on the requirements after you've already met the hidden requirements, like are you serious "highest education level" we're talking about applying for a minecraft selling forum as a moderator, not a college/university, think about people who chose another path way rather then school, think about the people who struggled in school, so many flaws because you think it's a way to weed out the competition, so you can have a highly intelligent staff team when all you'll be getting is arrogant people anyway, honestly this website needs to get it shit together, suspend me, ban me if you want to because at this point idk if this website allows free speech

LOL. Are you guys really reading that far into this? It's just the easiest common denominator to determine someone's maturity. Damn you are salty.
Once again, I'm not salty, I don't care about being a mod LOL, I just think everything about it is stupid, now you and your smug look get off me
