The Vortex Network

The Vortex Network is a Minecraft Server Network looking to bring the players the best possible server experience. The server is not yet created but we are in the preparation stage. We have the artwork, some of the builds, a plan for setting it up, and some setup finished. When the server is launched it will have many custom plugins/features, awesome staff, and 3 gamemodes. Those gamemodes will be Factions, Towny Survival, and OPPrison with much more to come. We plan on releasing the network on May 27th! Come join us! If you are interested in helping start an amazing server network, then apply down below!

We are currently in the process of hiring staff. We already have 5 staff members, they are:
KingRaptor345 - Owner
PinkFolder - Sr.Mod
SirGregg - Lead-Developer
Mr.RiceNoodles - GFX-Designer
Studz - Head-Administrator
Katie - Administrator
Galaxq - Administrator
koko - Helper

We still have many ranks we need to fill. The ranks we absolutely need have a * next to them. The ranks we are looking for are listed below. I will explain them in detail below the list along with how many we have/need.

Staff-Manager (01)
Developer (0/2)
Graphic-Designer (1/1)
Systems-Administrator (1/1)
Administrator (Can rank up to Head-Admin) * (3/3)
Moderator (Can rank up to Sr. Mod) * (1/4)
Builder (Can rank up to Head-Builder) * (0/3)
Helper * (1/5)
Youtuber * (As many as possible)

Staff Manager:
The staff manager will look after staff, host meetings, handle promotions and demotions, etc.

Developer:
The developer rank is just like it sounds. They will develop the server’s plugins and the website. They will do most of the behind the scenes work. Required to know Java and the Bukkit/Spigot API and also have experience using them. Also experience with HTML, CSS, PHP, JQuery, Python, and other languages help tremendously. Reports to the Lead-Dev. Will eventually be paid.

Graphic Designer: (Full)
These are the people who develop the artwork for the server. The artwork includes banners, logos, icons, backgrounds, themes, and whatever else we may need. Experience making artwork and also experience with either Photoshop or GIMP. Reports to the Lead-Dev. Will eventually be paid.

Administrator:
These are the main behind the scenes guys. They will be working on various jobs and doing mostly in-game work improving the server. They will also help any of the above ranks if needed, they will also watch over all of the below ranks and help train them. There is also much more. Experience with server administration is a must. One individual can possibly rank up to Head-Admin if you are very good at this rank.

Moderator:
These are the guys you will see and know the best. They are always in-game, scouting for hackers, monitoring the chat, and answering your questions. These are the people you will always go for help, after asking helpers. Experience in server moderation is a must. Must be friendly, easy-going, and very helpful. Can possibly rank up to Sr. Mod if you are very good at this rank.

Builder:
Builds the spawns, arenas, and prison mines, their work is the work you will see all around you. One individual can possibly rank up to Architect if you are very good at this rank. Must have experience using worldedit and building in Minecraft.

Helper:
This is the lowest rank, if you are applying via the server, this is the rank you would start out as. They are the first person you go to when you want to ask a question or get support. No experience is required, you just need to be friendly, helpful, and easy going.

Youtuber:
The youtuber rank is a special rank. To get this rank you need to have at least 100 subs and high view count. Please PM me if you are interested in this rank as it has a completely different application with only 3 questions. Will be paid per video.

Also, once a player has been ranked up to Moderator, they may choose which team they prefer. If they prefer not to be on any team, they don’t have to. They will give their top 3 choices and whichever one needs a member most, they will join. There are many teams that have different tasks and abilities. For an example, the media team are the ones who manage the server’s artwork, public relations, and social media accounts.

Now, for the part you have been waiting for, the application. All ranks administrator and below apply using the following format. The ranks above administrator must PM me here for instructions to proceed to skype and a custom application. There are also some requirements to be staff. You must be at least 13 years of age, you must have skype and be able to call, and you must be able to be online/call at least 2 hours a day. Copy and paste the following application format into your reply and answer the questions!

Community Manager:
About Darklight: Darklight was a Hard-Core-Factions, just not popular. It had 3 servers, Kit-map, Hard-Core-Factions, and Regular factions. I was a Community Manager there and I was the one who decided if the staff was accepted or denied on the their application. I also did basic Admin duties such as ban appeals, player reports, and banning players as needed. It had around 5-10 players on it, not big but a decent player count since we didn't have any You-tubers or people that advertised the server. I had a wonderful journey and it was my first time staffing on servers. Sadly it shut down, but all for the better because then I found Vethex and here I am today.

Admin:
About BloodSquad: BloodSquad was really just a test server for friends but we still had some players on it and my brother was the owner. This is my second time as a staff member and I was enjoying my time on this server and we had around a 5-15 player base if you count our friends that were on the server a lot. I was a proud Admin of that server and I stuck with them even when times got rough because I'm not a quitter I'm a fighter.

Moderator / Trial-Moderator:
About RegelWolf: This server was not owned by a friend or anyone I knew before hand. I had found this server on MC-Market and applied a while back and was accepted at first I loved a player on there but the server didn't have progress and didn't succeed. It is still open I believe but I was demoted because they said I was not helpful to their staff team. I was, in fact, helpful to them because I was one of the most active Moderators. I helped out other players that were on and banned Hackers. I believe this should not hurt my application because the reason I was demoted on that server was all just a miss understanding.

Why should you be staff on The Vortex Network?

I am on when some of the other staff members are not online, and I can work on things without help when it is needed. The server has rules and the server does not need rule breakers. I want to get to know the players and possibly make some new friends. If I see a job that is not taken care of I will do it even if it takes me a long time to get the work done I will get it 100% of the way done or I will pass it on to another staff member with it most of the way done.

How often can you play and how long a day?
I will but a list of times I can be on:
Monday: 4 hours at least (7:00pm - 11:00pm)
Tuesday: 4 hours at least (7:00pm - 11:00pm)
Wednesday: 41/2 hours at least (6:30pm - 11:30pm)
Thursday: 41/2 hours at least (6:30pm - 11:30pm)
Friday: 8 hours at least (7:00pm - 3:30am)
Saturday: 10 hours at least (7:00pm - 5:00am)
Sunday: 4 hours at least (7:00 - 11:00pm)

Basic overview of your skills:
Attitude: - Attitude is one of the key things in staffing on servers and in real life. If you have a good attitude and care for the server, you will care for the players and the community on the server. If you have a poor attitude then you will not care for anyone and if you ban someone you will not feel bad or anything you will just be like 'I don't care their fault'.

Caring: - Caring is another key part in staffing, you need to care for the server, community, and how people feel. First, you need to care for the server, if you don't care for the server your not going to do a good job on staffing because you won't punish players when needed. Next, the community you need to care about the community, because if you don't care about anyone in the community you're most likely to abuse, or staff terribly. This would not be a good thing and could hurt some of the players. Last but not least, how people feel, if you don't care how people feel or how they were punished then your just gonna ignore them and punish them because you don't care about them. I am one of these players that do care about the server, community and how players feel.

Respectful: - Respectful is a big key point, you need to be respectful to the players so the server will grow and gain even more players. You also need to be respectful to the staff members because if you're not then they will not like you and you could be demoted and treated badly right back. I am a player who shows everyone respect.

ScreenSharing: - I am pretty good at screen sharing a possible cheater. When it comes to the time I can give them tools to download such as Becky Robert, cheats master, search everything and a VapeSmasher. I know how to help the other staff with screenshareingif needed, I can help train people to screenshare. Scrrenshareing is one of those things that you need to be shown the proper way for it. If you don't know how to screenshare someone then if they do have hacks you will let them get away.

Working: - I am a hard working and don't stop at something till I achieve my goal or the project I am working on. The only way I would stop is if another player needed my assistance. When it comes to working I take it very seriously.

Funny: - I am a nice funny guy when everyone is joking around but when it comes to being serious I am very strong and serious about the situation, I like to laugh with others, and enjoy my time with others.

Communication: - I am a very communicative person, I love being involved with others and I love talking to others. I am one who likes to talk to others about helping them, joking around, and having a good time.

Dependable: - As a staff member, you need to be able to be depended on because higher staff can't always walk you through things and give you Assistance when doing stuff.

Responsible: - You need to be responsible, you can't do what you do in school and just skip your homework. If any of the staff members say you need to do something you can't do it you need to do it and be responsible.

Servers: - What I mean by servers is as a staff member since there is going to be HCF and kitmap etc. You need to be able to switch to other servers that either don't have staff on or have very little staff on.

/Help: - What I mean by this is when players report or if there is a command such as /helpop you need to be able to quickly respond to it.

In-Game: - I am very active in the game. I love playing and helping other players.

Forums: - As I am a New Member on the forums I am still very experienced on forums as I have played a lot of servers with the same type of forum style.

Testing Hackers: - As a staff member you need to know if you can Screenshare them or if they are so obvious that you can ban them straight away.

Teamspeak: - I am decently active in Teamspeak but there isn't really anything to do besides talking to friends because I can't move people in Teamspeak and help them.

Helpful: - As a staff member you need to be helpful not only to the community to the staff team. Obviously you need to be helpful to the community so they keep asking you questions and telling you stuff. You need to be helpful to the staff team so if they get busy and need you to do something they forgot you can.

Staffing: - What I mean by this is making sure your appropriate, type fast, react fast, helpful. Helpful I have already explained but for typing fast if there is alerts on hackers you need to TP to them fast so they can be banned, reacting fast kind of the same thing just commands like staff mode, baning, muteing, and warning players. Appropriate is a huge thing because if your not you won't be a good staff member and everyone will leave the server.

About Yourself:
You can find some information on my thread here: http://www.mc-market.org/threads/178754/

Anything else?
I am a pretty good person when it comes to screen sharing, I take my work very seriously and I understand when players are having a rough day and would not get mad/angry at them and take it out on them.

Do you have any experience in this position, if so, where?
It's been a while since I've been an admin on any Minecraft server but I have plenty of experience from a while back. I've been in similar positions to Admin on several start up servers including LowKeyPVP (once called McWarCraft), Fakeplex (Mineplex copy that had a 5000 playerbase and an average player count of 400 online), both of these server I was an Owner. These two servers have since shutdown. My main duties were staff management, creating documents and ensuring our staff had a positive time online. I also was in charge of social media on both of these servers at one stage and customer support, replying to tickets and fixing payment issues for our customers.

Why should you be staff on The Vortex Network?
I'd love to jump back into a management type position in which I can manage and look after specific areas of a server. I have extensive knowledge into social media management and how to grow Facebook pages. I've been playing Minecraft since 2012 and since then I've been staff on several small servers with small communities, I have also been a moderator on the Mineplex network in 2015, I resigned from Mineplex as I didn't like seeing how the server management was operated and no suggestions that I had offered had been looked into. Having experience into staff teams that don't work have taught me how to fix issues within management to ensure that things run smoothly. Owners of a decent sized server shouldn't have to deal with petty little things all the time, that's what Admins are for. I'm 18 and now finished school, I work part time and have a small photography business that keeps me occupied with jobs. Having a part time job and running a small business gives me flexible hours to work on a server. I have a good computer setup, it's known as a work station. This setup is made up of three monitors and a studio quality microphone that allows me to work efficiently in any situation. Overall I'm after a management position because it's something that I enjoy and take pride in. I'm all for honesty and people speaking up, if something is wrong, people should speak up. Admins that don't listen to their staff with a neutral stand point is a massive issue with Minecraft server staff management.

How often can you play and how long a day?

About 1-2 hours per day. Playing online is different than working behind the scenes. I can spend more time and do more work behind the scenes in managing things however I still put time aside to interact with the community and have some fun.

Basic overview of your skills:

Social Media Management
- Grown a Facebook page from 1 like to 325,000 likes with an active audience
- Grown an Instagram account from 1 follower to over 20,000
Clear and well spoken, great with oral and written communication via TS3, Skype, email and other platforms
Business driven
- I'm always coming up with solutions and methods to increase productivity and efficiency
- I can see the potential in sales and profits by making the right decisions
- Currently have a small photography business, can provide website and information in an interview
- Imported and sold over 500 products locally by using selling tactics
Mature and professional with a sense of humor
I utilize Google apps (GoogleDocs, Slides, Forms, Sheets)

About Yourself:
I thoroughly enjoy a good game on Minecraft, especially when team work is involved. I'm great with email communication as I use it often when talking with clients for my business. Coming across as professional is everything in first impressions. I enjoy talking on Teamspeak to people. I can speak well and have a New Zealand accent as I'm a kiwi.

Anything else?
I'd love to provide the URL's to my social media platforms and business websites but I'd rather not post them for public view on this website. I'd be more than happy to show them and speak further in an interview.

Cheers,
Sarn (AeroxNZ IGN)

Legit copied the WyvernNetwork... Wyvern is the original VortexNetwrk aka VortexPvP. I would recommend to find a new name as this name is too simple and too over used. Make something unique like a made up word or something. It needs to sound cool though! Or just a cool sounding actual word. Anways, Good luck!

It is extremely hard to copy a server's name if that isn't their name. The Wyvern Network has changed their name and we did not even know they were originally called that. Right now there are no servers using our names, therefore there is no point in changing it.

I understand that but the word "Vortex" is just too overused and too simple of a name. Try to get something unique and cool, not just "Vortex" when literally everyone likes that word and uses it for faction names too.

There are no servers with the name Vortex. Now stop replying to this thread if you don't have anything constructive to say.[DOUBLEPOST=1488669918][/DOUBLEPOST]

Do you have any experience in this position, if so, where? Yes, I do. On SunRaids, a factions server with a moderate playerbase, I was a Moderator for three months. The owners sold the server and the new one can be found here: hyverse.net

Why should you be staff on The Vortex Network? First off, I'm very calm in chat. I rage on a little or never basis. And if I do happen to rage, I don't take it out on people online. I'll take a step back (figuratively) and breath. If someone has any questions, I'm always happy to answer. I'm very active in chat and participate in whatever conversation is going on. Going with this, I can easily moderator & control a chat. For example, if players are spamming, I'd warn them first. If they continued after I've warned them on a handful of occasions, I'd simply mute them for a temporary amount of time. Also, I can be extremely active. I can be on for a few hours each day and I'll spend my time helping out the community. Moving on to another topic, I'll never abuse. I find abusing mean/selfish, and I have no reason to resort to that nature. Why take my frustrations out online? Personally, I'll never do it. It's just not me. If I do happen to come across a staff member who is heavily or lightly abusing, I'd notify an administrator and they should be able to handle it. Back on SunRaids, an Ex-Staff member abused due to people spreading rumors to him (he was easily tricked). The situation was handled, and although I didn't take part in fixing it, I tried to reassure people that everything was fixed. Also, I know how to determine if a player is worth being punished. If many players are hackusating against (random player), but I cannot find any proof after checking for a substantial amount of time, I won't punish that player. But I'd warn those other player s for not only hackusating, but for wasting my time. I know to record if I suspect a person of using a hacked client, or take a screenshot if that would provide enough proof. Also, if a player advertises but says something like "WHOOPS I meant to type V not Command/Control V!" than I'd of course still punish them, but if they never did it again, I'd punish them a lot less severely. In chat, I never get into arguments. Lots of players get into arguments quickly, but I never do. I think that having a kinder state of mind is better than being angry and rude all of the time. Lastly, I appreciate the community of minecraft as a whole more than anyone else. The fact that you can hop onto a server and make a dozen friends 30 seconds later is astonishing. Not many people think of that, but it's one of the greatest things about the game. Every time you click on that multiplayer button, you know that 30 seconds later, you'd have already met some new people. This is why you should pick me over other applicants applying for staff on this server.

How often can you play and how long a day? I can play 5-7 days a week for 2-4 hours a day. Events/vacations/etc aren't factored into this.
Basic overview of your skills: Here's a list of my best skills:
- Excellent at chat moderation
- 8.5/10 at detecting a hacked client
- Mature
- Calm & Nice
