Hello so recently there were some problems about people telling others to "kys" and they only recieved a verbal warning but i think it should be considered a higher offense than disrespect/hate/etc. As Telling someone to commit suicide is a serious issue and the person should Have a higher punishment due to saying that.
i personally dont care if a random person online told me to kys but there are people in the community who might really do it or get affected by it!
Thanks People of Mcm
NOTE:
IT SHOULD BE A 5 POINT WARNING iam not saying a 1 day suspension lol

While you're at it you should also make a rule preventing 14 year old kids from making rule requests in response to some shitty recent event they were offended by.

Grow some balls.

Guys lets all remember. Shit happens. It's good he brought up the suggestion because it is a good reminder to us all for various reasons such as to not let bullying happen on this site but also to remember we need to allow criticism.

Tank is a good guy. I'm happy he made the suggestion and even if this one gets accepted or denied I hope he makes more that are also important.
The Kindness is killing meee, thanks Arc coming from someone against this suggestion you are truly a professional and a great guy!

What the fuck is the point of this? No one's going to listen to someone who says "kys"
"Oh hey man, how was your day?"
"kys"
"Oh yeah, I'm gonna listen to you and go kill myself now"
wut?
No, but it sometimes goes beyond that. Kys is a stupid meme used only by pathetic retards, but its too irrelevant to mean an increased warning.
However, more elaborate statements should not be tolerated.

Also, we cannot tell exactly how it affects people, unless we've been on the brink of suicide ourselves. It's true that someone that far gone might have done it anyway, but it could be the final drop that takes place before help can arrive/contribute.

I see no reason to tolerate telling someone directly to kill themselves. It should be an appeal-able warning, but it should be one that's enough for an instant suspension (10 points is still the gap, right?).

It's like 5 warning points for trolling or harassment cause I have a bunch of those.
that can remain a thing for most normal things, but I feel like a direct statement for someone to kill themselves should become something more.
Ah well, we'll see what the decision becomes

Keep in mind, there ARE people in a depressive state of mind. Anything potentially encouraging them to do something harmful will actually make them do it. You cannot feel how people with depression feel like. This seems made up, but I've had a friend attempt suicide, and it was no fun for me, for her family, or for anyone else.

No matter how stupid it sounds, no matter if you should "grow balls", that should not be said. Learn to be kind and cultural. If you think this is a simple joke, then why did so many kids suicide due to people telling them to kill themselves online?

I'm depressed and suicidal and still think "kys" or "kill yourself" is the stupidest thing to say.

The only kinds of people who'd be affected are the kind who are deeply depressed, empty, and alone, who are looking for acceptance. in which the internet isn't their place. at least on minecraft.

go visit 4chan for a bit and see how messed up it will make you.

People should stop assuming or nosing into things like this. I'm depressed and the only thing that's worse is hearing shit like this which just upsets me more. who gives a shit.
Funny, you're assuming that everyone who's depressed feels and thinks the same as you.

I browse websites about this avidly. I read everything they say. Forums where others like me exist. Do you? Do you take the time to go to places like that, and care for those who are depressed? Do you take the time to try and cheer them up? To give words of encouragement?

I don't think you do.
No, I don't. Because I do so in real life. I had a close friend commit suicide apparently out of the blue. So I turned my attention to others like him. But not over the net, where any help I can offer is thin at best. It's difficult to find them IRL, but each time I've noticed someone showing signs of depression I've tried to encourage them to pick up some dream or other they abandoned by the roadside, I've tried to make friends and classmates who were clearly dropping away feel like they belonged again. I've also tried to learn more about how to detect the silent cases, those who go under without a splash, but unfortunately there's not much training like that in my area, so I'm restricted to reading up on it online.

It's funny how once again you assumed I did nothing of the sort that you're doing. I've had my own run-in with depression, but never went very deep because I was lucky enough to be surrounded by supporting people. I reached a point where I no longer saw any use in getting out of bed, eating or leaving my room. I was almost forcibly pulled out of it, then a few months later my friend died. That kicked me awake even further.

Let's just stop assuming we know what the other's life is like. I have no idea how far you've gone IRL, or even beyond this website. It's obvious the reverse is true as well.
