The Story So Far
Long ago, The Echovale was one giant continent with endless frost covering the lands. Ruled by brutal frost giants, any living creature found itself killed or enslaved. A magical being of fire, known as the Lady of the Hearth had been watching the frost giants’ rule from afar. This infuriated her, and in her rage she ripped a hole between her world and the Echovale’s, allowing her to pass between them. For the next 700 years a war ensued between The Lady and the frost giants. While their powers were fairly equal, The Lady was victorious after all those years, eventually allowing the frost to fade from the world. This is what they teach the children in school at least. Nearly 1055 years later, there are still people who worship The Lady as a goddess. Some doubt that she ever existed to begin with, but the scars left on the Echovale keep her people’s faith strong. Freed from its icy tomb, the world has been allowed to prosper. Various wildlife, cultures, and beasts have propagated the land. You find yourself in this world, a place of rich history and opportunity. What will you make of it?
The Echovale ~ D&D Brought To Minecraft
If you enjoy Dungeons and Dragons (D&D 5e), then this server is for you. For those who don’t know, D&D is a turn-based tabletop roleplaying game. You create your character, buy items, fight monsters, raid dungeons, and make your place in the world. Our goal is to bring this into Minecraft, but with a real-time, semi skill-based gameplay style. This means playing as a unique race, choosing your class, and fighting never-before seen monsters (and other players) with advanced magic and custom items. Some servers have added parts of D&D before, but we’re bringing it all. See more in features below.
Multiple RPGs in One?
Additionally, in D&D a big part of the game is creating your own worlds, story and campaigns and running them with friends. You can do that here as well. The Echovale is the world where we show off what you can do with the tools we’ve created, but if you prefer the more traditional turn-based combat, want to play with some tweaks, or just create your own world to play with friends, then that’s more than possible. Many tools will be created that will allow you to create complex, detailed worlds all on your own. Some of these worlds can even become public if you put enough effort into them.
We’re Recruiting!
With that said being said, The Echovale is the first world that we will have. The Echovale is a semi-medieval, fantasy world like most other RPGs. For now, creating an intricate world from scratch is not easy. We're starting by building Adref (the big continent on the left of the map), and Focis. For that, we need help. We’re recruiting talented volunteers of all skill sets to help us bring this world to life. Check some of the positions below we’re recruiting for, and see if you think you’re cut out for any of them. Recruiting
Builder
Builders are responsible for two things. The first is making The Echovale come to life, and making the best environment possible to let Echovale’s mechanics shine. The second is building assets for other players to use in their worlds. The goal is to make creating your own setting as easy as possible. If you’re particularly adept at building structures, terraforming land, or creating organics, then you should definitely apply. You will be working as part of a team, with one or more people managing you, so be prepared for this. Check what building styles we need built in the link for reference pictures below. Writer
The Echovale has many stories to be told. As a writer, it’s your job to write those stories. You’ll be working with our head writer to fit as much detail as possible into The Echovale. This may be writing the history of the land, writing dialogue for custom NPCs, or writing short books of lore for other players to enjoy. We’re only hiring writers who are experienced with D&D, so if you’ve played before then apply now!
Requirements: Age 16+, 1 year+ of D&D experience (Dungeon Master experience preferred), examples of past world building you’ve done, general writing portfolio

3D Modeler
The Echovale has many things that need to look distinct from regular Minecraft. Many custom items will have unique models, and monsters will combine multiple different models to make realistic, moving creatures. If you have experience with 3D modeling for Minecraft items, you have a place here. Apply now.

Resource Pack Artist
While 3D modelers are responsible for making monsters and items look right, resource pack artists are responsible for making the world itself look right. You’ll be creating textures to help our builders make the world pop more. This means designing new block textures as builders request. You’ll also be redesigning simple items to fit the feel of our world. If you’re a talented pixel artist, apply now.

Art / Media
Presentation is important, especially for advertising. If you have skills with digital art, website development, video editing, film, animation, trailer creation, etc. then apply. Your skills may be used for various tasks. Note that this role will become more important as we approach our release date (to be determined).
